Leggy babe Anitra Ford plays scientist Dr. Susan Harris who is trying to take over the world with an army of bee girls who seduce and kill their male victims. Victoria Vetri is Julie Zorn, the one woman Agar can trust (not to kill him when he sleeps with her!).With such a silly premise and lots and lots of large, natural breasts (and a couple of small ones too), Invasion of the Bee Girls is enjoyable exploitation nonsense, perfect viewing for fans of trashy schlock sci-fi/horror. The science is of your standard hokey B-movie variety, and there are no special effects (barring some compound bee vision and the use of black contact lenses), but the whole thing buzzes along quite nicely and is never boring thanks to a likeable lead performance from Smith, and all of those sexy ladies.The ridiculous ending sees Agar defeat the bee girls by shooting their computer as he rescues Julie from their conversion process, thereby causing the machinery to short circuit and electrocute the women.6.5 out of 10, rounded up to 7 for IMDb.

An agent for the State Department named "Neil Agar" (William Smith) is sent to Peckham, California to determine if there is any connection between the death of a man and a local top secret government research facility called "Brandt Industries". Not long after his arrival, other men begin dying at an alarming rate. The cause of death is sexual exhaustion in almost all of the cases. Now, as one might expect from a B-movie this one has some typical flaws. First, the lighting in several scenes was clearly inadequate. Likewise, the special effects were somewhat basic as well. In addition to that, there was quite a bit of nudity. Some of it enhanced a particular scene but at other times it didn't seem necessary or even that remarkable. However, what I did find rather remarkable was that, minus the nudity, this is the type of film one might expect to see back in the 1950's. It has that type of a plot. Be that as it may, for a "Bee-movie" this wasn't that bad.

How can you really go wrong with "Invasion of the Bee Girls"? Even critics like Leonard Maltin and Roger Ebert have given this one their seal of approval, and it truly is a model B / bee movie. It has the requisite amount of female flesh that trash lovers desire as well as a wonderfully wacky far fetched plot.B movie icon William Smith stars as Neil Agar, a government agent called in to help solve the problem when men in a small California town begin to die off. Well, at least they're dying HAPPY, if you get my drift...Could the answer be found in the laboratories of the nearby Brandt scientific institute? You'll just have to watch and find out.This was the brainchild of screenwriter and future director Nicholas Meyer, who went on to do things like "The Seven Per Cent Solution", 'The Day After', and two of the "Star Trek" feature films, although he'd be dismayed at the way it ultimately turned out and seriously consider taking his name off the picture. The director is Denis Sanders, who handles the material with style, maintaining a sense of humour about the premise, while having the actors play it straight. The movie also has some seriously sexy moments and scenes, with the seduction of one of the scientists rating as a definite highlight.The actors are all fun to watch, starting with tough guy Smith. 'The Price is Right' model Anitra Ford is a delicious villainess while Playboy Playmate Victoria Vetri is irresistibly cute as the bookish woman who gives Smith an assist in his investigation. Cliff Osmond is the perplexed local sheriff, Wright King, Ben Hammer, Andre Philippe, and Sid Kaiser play various scientists, soft core starlet Colleen Brennan has an uncredited role as a nude motorcyclist, and Cliff Emmich appears as the coroner. Professionals behind the camera include talented composer Charles Bernstein whose music score is quite infectious, and cinematographer Gary Graver, a man who's shot countless low budget pictures.All of them help to make "Invasion of the Bee Girls" a high old time for the schlock film fan. It certainly gets down to business quickly and wraps itself up in record time, including much exposition (you do get a little education into the sex life of bees) but remaining quite watchable for the duration.Eight out of 10.

Now we know how the terrorist slipped through and almost set off a bomb over Detroit. Government agents were busy investigating why men are dying of heart attacks after sex with their wives.This was a running joke in the film as people were advised to avoid sex. That went over well.The basic premise is the takeover of the Earth from men by killing them. Obviously, all me will willingly engage in extramarital sex with any woman who seems willing.The film stars William Smith (Any Which Way You Can, Conan the Barbarian, Red Dawn), and features one of the original "Price is Right" models, Anitra Ford, as the Head Bee Girl. Also stars Victoria Vetri, the 1968 Playboy Playmate of the Year (and we do get to see why!).The best scene is when they transform a new widow into a Bee Girl. After the transformation process, Ford plants a big kiss on the new initiate, which drives the other Bee Girls into a frenzy and lots of big natural breasts are exposed.Another great scene occurred when Smith runs into rescue Vetri before she can be transformed. He grabs her naked body like a sack of flour.Great B movie fare.
