Senteur As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.
Abbigail Bush what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Michael_Elliott I Heart Monster Movies (2012) ** 1/2 (out of 4) Entertaining documentary taking a look at the people who love horror movies. This documentary covers various subjects ranging from the movies to the music to various specialty clubs and even those who cover things like conventions. We get interviews with a lot of horror fans who discuss why they love horror movies and we also hear from people like Sid Haig, Tom Savini, Linnea Quigley, Doug Bradley and Bill Moseley who discuss what the fans mean to them. For the most part this is a decent little film that takes a look at some new subjects that aren't often covered in documentaries. With that said, the best stuff deals with the fans talking about how they got into horror movies and at what age it happened. There are some nice interviews with the actors including one with Quigley. I think some of the comments made throughout are rather silly but everyone can have their opinion. The PG-13 horror movies being ripped apart makes me wonder if those saying the comments realize that JAWS was PG.
