FeistyUpper If you don't like this, we can't be friends.
Rosie Searle It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Marva It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
Michael Ledo The film was stunning. I mean I felt stunned at the end of the film. I had this "what did I just watch" feeling and didn't know if I should have enjoyed it more, after all it was Asylum. It seems the city-state of Enos has wealth but is falling apart. Arius (Christian Oliver) has just been made captain of the army and is also engaged to Princess Theodora (Christina Ulfsparre). General Nikos (Dylan Vox) decides to lead an army against Enos and capture it. Routed, Arius and his companions flee to the city of Sagev in hopes of finding Hercules to aid them...providing he is not just a legend. They aren't sure. Their search for Hercules (John Hennigan) turns up a crude drunkard who burps, pukes, drinks, and urinates constantly throughout the film. Seems Hercules has issues this demi-god has trouble handling. There was no "what was that lion thing" in this film as there was in the blockbuster, but it wouldn't have hurt. The characters in the film had various English accents from various periods. One character Tymek had his named pronounced "Timex" and another time "Panic." I kept wondering who these people were. Some of the fighting at the end was comical, people moving around not knowing what to do. There was a funny scene when our gang enters a bar asking for Hercules. The movie was filmed in Morocco which made ancient Greece look a desert. Not recommended for serious viewers, and I am not too sure about Asylum viewers.Parental Guide: No f-bombs, sex, or nudity. Implied sex and rape.
Leofwine_draca Bizarrely, this is one of three similar Hercules-themed movies released around the same time; the other two were rival Hollywood products whereas this is the Asylum rip-off version. That it was shot in a sun-drenched Morocco is the only redeeming feature this film has. It's the usual mix of poorly-plotted nonsense, with a small cast reciting trite dialogue and trying to look all macho in their armour and out of it. There's little in the way of action and the occasional bit of violence thrown in to appease adult audiences, but generally this is hard work and exactly what you'd expect from The Asylum.
peteronex This is one low budget film. the plot is so bad that my two children are laughing at every scene. Even when the movie tries to be serious, its become a laughable comedy due to the acting and plot. Just like watching WWF matches. Purely shouting matches and wrestling moves execution. How is it possible that the army of the king has so few soldiers that a bunch of 30 men could over throw them? Very unrealistic. Princess Theodore just wasn't helpful, most of the time crying and a spectator. Over all this is bad, bad, bad directing, execution, storyline.... Everything is bad. Waste of time. Christina Ulfsparre was a beautiful face and its a wasted talent for her to star in this movie.
Richard Godden This movie was average, I am assuming the budget was low due to the limited extra's not too mention the average acting.Story line was kept throughout the movie, since a WWE was used as the main character the fighting contained some body slams, flips, choke holds etc. The place used for the movie was however reasonably authentic, costumes where OK. I suggest if you watch this movie, order a pizza, some garlic bread and nibbles, beer to get you in the mood and with some friends have some fun if your a WWE fan.Cheers!!
