Bereamic Awesome Movie
Tayyab Torres Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
Fatma Suarez The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
TheLittleSongbird I am not a fan at all of Miley Cyrus or Hannah Montana, and not of 3D either. But I saw Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus:The Best of Both Worlds Concert out of curiosity, and in all honesty it is an experience that I wish to forget. It's not quite as unwatchable as the Jonas Brothers 3D concert, but while I disliked that as well especially for the screaming even the recent Justin Bieber movie was better than this.Miley Cyrus herself is a big part of the problem. I have never thought of her much as an actress nor as a role model, and that is including the Hannah Montana movie and The Last Song, I do find her presence very forced. Here is no exception, I do not think she has any charisma and she really does not seem to be enjoying herself. Her singing is even worse I feel, I dislike her shrill, shrieky tone and her pitching always feels flat for my musical ears.Let's get onto the music. I love music just as much as I love film but I honestly hated the music here. It feels as though it was written in a hurry with no heart and soul as the lyrics are cheesy and unmemorable and the melodies are dull and plodding, yes even the more upbeat songs. And it doesn't help that the sound itself is so grungy. The choreography is also messy with a complete lack of imagination and feel for the song, and when it comes to performing it the backing group actually did a better job than Miley did. Before I do get flamed, I do know it takes time, work and effort to produce a concert, but it also requires heart which is severely lacking here. That's not all. I did not like how the concert was shot. The camera angles go at really dizzying angles, the lighting alone gave me a headache and the editing feels cheap. And I see I am not the only one who found the close-ups of the mother really creepy, or that most of the interviews were embarrassing or even the screaming audience got too much. Then there is the 3D, which in my view was not necessary, and what is worse it was badly done as well not only lacking clarity but also distracting rather than enhancing. All in all, a must perhaps for Miley Cyrus fans but other than that a waste of time and something to stay clear of. 1/10 Bethany Cox
DICK STEEL Alright, I have to confess that I have no clue as to who Hannah Montana is, except that she is some "it"girl with some links to Disney, and was spoofed in Superhero Movie. She's a character played by Miley Cyus, daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus, who has to don a long and silky blonde wig to play her alter ego, and perhaps the only time I've seen Miley perform, was lending her non singing voice in Bolt.So I was precisely the proverbial fish out of water who knew zilch about the influence of Miley's reach, and know nothing too about the songs in both Montana and Cyrus' discography. But of course that didn't persuade me otherwise not to go for this concert movie to find out a lot more in under 90 minutes, and being a 3D movie provided extra reason to do so as well.Being what would be my first 3D concert movie, the depth of field here worked wonders in tricking your senses that you were there at the performance, and every hand that shot up to wave about, or a pop of a head because of enthusiastic fans jumping up and down, would have you either want to reach out and slap them, or like the kids in the audience, they too were lured to mimic such typical enjoyment as if they were there, swaying, dancing, running around, doing cartwheels even (!) just in front of the screen. These kids provided an additional D with their honest, devil-may-care participation. One too would expect just performance of a number after performance, and the only truly 3D-ish moments was the drummer who executed tossing his drumstick into the air, and with Miley herself throwing one right toward the camera, which made you cringe. Other than that, there's nothing unusual, and the documentary aspect of preparing for her concert turned out to be rather plain as well, beginning with designing the stage and the moves on a mock location, before wrapping everything after a full dress rehearsal for the actual performing location.Expect a number of talking heads from parents to co-performers peppering this concert movie, though there's absolutely nothing scandalous being said, more like plenty of pats on the back. Of the "two" performers here, personally I preferred Miley Cyrus' turn rather than Hannah Montana, which I felt was a little bit fake to begin with, and of the songs performed, I had preferred Cyrus' selection over Montana's. Then again, what would I know, since they're essentially the same person, and the age group this is targeted at, would have more discerning opinions.I'm just there to soak up the atmosphere, really. Kristine My generation, we had the Spice Girls, you know how they were so hated, they were too perky, too fake, too sexy, too advertised, had everything they wanted, the list goes on and on, but 12 year old girls(like I was at the time) absolutely adored them. We also had a movie called Spice World which again got a ton of hate, while the movie was terrible, it was the new generations "Gimme Shelter" or even "Yellow Submarine", now most would argue with me because the music was better back in the day, hey, guess what? Their parents thought the same thing, now we have Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour, the whole point of my ramble is, this is the new Spice World, little girls look up to Hannah Montana, as silly as it is, we have all been through the same thing generation after generation. We always get into the same argument, notice a pattern here? It's rather scary when you think it over.Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour takes you back stage with Miley Cyrus, her big preparation for her big concert. She talks with family and friends, talks a little bit about her character/alter ego Hannah Montana and what a journey it's been. We find out from her screaming fans why she is so wonderful, what people would go through to get those tickets for her concert. There is also a special performance from The Jonas Brothers, Miley goes on as Hannah and then later on performs as herself.Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour honestly is good for the 12 year old's, in my opinion, the concert was pretty cool to watch. I watched this with my 10 year old cousin and I just saw how her eyes lite up as she sang to the songs, so you know what? I think this was nice for the little one's, it's a Disney Movie, it's Hannah Montana, so I really don't know what people were expecting. It's also very short, so I wasn't tortured with it or anything, like I said, we go through this every generation, Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour is just the new concert/artist biography for the little girls who need an idol to look up too.5/10
hbuen001 I want to start off by saying that I am 19 year old male, and I went to go see this without a minor, and this WAS my first choice. Mind you, you will not see me owning Hannah Montana paraphernalia, I just enjoy Hannah Montana (the show and music) for what it is, mindless fun. Sure many little girls look up to her and would probably give away one of their arms just to meet her, but that's not me. I dragged my friends to see it all around 19-23 and they all ended up enjoying it. I enjoyed it. I do enjoy her show on the Disney Channel and think her songs are catchy with amazing hooks and riffs. The whole concert was just what I expected it to be, fun and upbeat, almost reminiscent of the bubblegum pop heyday of the late 90s/ early 00s (I will admit I was one of those crazy fanboys). So I guess going to see this was a way for me to relive that, and even my friends as well. If you want to have a good time, and aren't a pretentious teenage douche who hates Hannah Montana just to be cool, then go see this.
