GazerRise Fantastic!
Bluebell Alcock Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies
Nina Anderson When I heard that Family Guy was parodying Star Wars, I was excited. Family Guy has been one of my favourite shows for several years, and I have always enjoyed the Star Wars films, so it felt like a good mix. I loved Blue Harvest as it was really funny and I very much enjoyed the character casting. The recurring gags were brilliant, as well as being able to keep the storyline as well as adding in regular Family Guy jokes. Something, Something, Something Dark Side wasn't as good as the first, although it was still enjoyable. At times it felt like they were trying to cram in too many Family Guy jokes, which was a bit of a turn off for me. But overall I liked it. It's A Trap was less memorable than the other two. Family Guy fans will like it, but the whole thing just felt a little low on steam. The whole thing in general was fine, but relied too heavily on swearing and cartoon violence, which I didn't enjoy. Having Rush Limbaugh as the Rancor made no sense to me. Personally I would have switched him with James Woods, which would have been a more obvious joke. No, James Woods isn't in it, which was a shame as he could have been the Rancor or Darth Sidious instead of Carter Pewterschmit. Ironically, while the previous one had too many Family Guy jokes, this one lacks them severely. The most memorable being the Conway Twitty cutaway. I was rather disappointed they didn't inject a Surfin' Bird gag, which could have occurred when Peter stepped on the stereo behind the Storm Trooper, then they could have started dancing to it. Also, it failed to feature my favourite character: Death. In the first one, he could have played the Jawa instead of Mort Goldman. Although I was surprised to have them crossover Roger and Klaus from American Dad, which I have to say, made me laugh. Having Rallo from the Cleveland Show did nothing for me though. I couldn't help feeling that Joe was miscast as Jabba. It just didn't feel right. Personally, I think Joe should have been R2-D2, solely because there could have been some handicap jokes in it. Oh, and the fact that Chris broke Stewie's neck at the end just ruined it. The constant sex jokes made by Peter were very annoying, and the nodding sequence went on just a bit too long and killed the humour. Don't get me wrong, there were some good moments in it, such as Klaus and Roger's cameos, and Lois looking super hot in Princess Leia's slave outfit. Other than that I have to say this was by far the weakest of the trilogy, and it felt more like South Park than Family Guy. Overall, if you like the previous two, I see no reason why you shouldn't give this a go. If you are neither a Family Guy or Star Wars fan, this isn't for you.
stitch-99 The very first Family Guy Star Wars spoof (Blue Harvest) was hilarious because one could tell that the writers put a lot of thought into it. "Something, Something, Something Dark Side" had a few good laughs, but was definitely not worth sitting through for those few. When they reached "It's A Trap!" however, almost anything resembling humour was completely gone. I was actually planning to completely avoid it until it just happened to be on TV and nothing else was on.Seth Macfarlane acknowledges the fact that he is phoning in this last special in the opening crawl. He blatantly states that he knows it is not very funny. The way I figure it, given Macfarlane's past few years of television, if he knows something is unfunny, it really must be.I was keeping careful count of the things I considered funny. I counted four things: an Ewok eating the limbs of another Ewok who had fallen in battle, Han making Imperial troops dig their own graves (although this joke went on too long, so it was only partially funny), the ghost of Darth Vader blaming Luke for killing him, and Meg being the Sarlaac. There were at least six things which were hypothetically funny, but the execution ruined them. Most of the special was just plain insipid and had no respect for its audience's potential intelligence (I say potential because, given the fact that Seth Macfarlane's new stuff is still popular, intelligence might not be entirely applicable). This is all to say that the scene at the end where all of the Griffins who are not played by Macfarlane wind up completely ripping on him was not very inaccurate. I like to think that it's Macfarlane's subconscious acceptance of the fact that he is no longer funny. After viewing this special, I can now say that I have officially given up on MacFarlane's animation. He has nothing more to offer. All of his new stuff is devoid of humour and I've already seen the old, good stuff enough times that I'd rather preserve my good memories of them than continue to taint the experience by remembering what Family Guy would become in years to come.
disdressed12 here we have Family Guy with their third and final episode in a trilogy, parodying the final episode of Star Wars,The Return of The Jedi.this episode, while still funny,is at least to me,not as funny as Blue Harvest, the first episode, and certainly not as funny as the second episode,Something,Something,Something,Dark Side.nor is it as clever or fast paced.it's still a good episode and there some funny and clever moments, but of the three,it's my least favourite, just as Jedi,is my Least Favourite of the original Star Wars films.however,i would still recommend purchasing the Family Guy Trilogy.i think it's worth it for episode one and two.all three of the episodes are longer than the broadcast versions.for me, Family Guy:It's a Trap is a 7/10
marcus259387608 The Family Guy series did a decent job of parodying Star Wars in general before introducing this trilogy of parodies and this shows that the parodies for Star Wars have gotten somewhat stale. Even the opening crawl said that the episode is not as funny as the predecessors so you know when they're just flat out saying it at the start there are glaring problems and whilst I know its supposed to be humorous and tongue in cheek but it shows that even they are running out of steam. Dare I say the same can be said for the series in general? Well that's a different debate altogether but the episode isn't horrible. It plays out like a regular episode as opposed to a special and loses some of the charm of the predecessors where you get the feeling they really enjoyed making them and that isn't there here. The jokes are quite good mostly with a few good laughs here and there. The ewoks finishing off the stormtroopers at the end of the battle was very funny and whilst I would of thought I'd see it as a mere shock value gag it really amused me. There's the usual jokes about the flaws in the plot etc but like I say its growing stale and merely leaves me hoping that they don't touch the prequels because there will be no jokes outside of flaws which will make for a very boring episodes indeed. On the other hand the true weakest joke of the episode came in the spoof of the Sarlaac scene on Tatooine where they make fun the nodding of acknowledgement of the plan. This was amusing at first but it went on far too long like so many jokes on this show. While that joke was weak the only terrible joke was the 'Darth' Twitty gag which had me cringing. It wasn't funny once and it wasn't funny in any of the subsequent times and superimposing a Darth Vader helmet on does not automatically make it funny. In spite of these complaints it was more or less amusing with the Emperor played well by Carter Pewterschmidt and I'm glad they got him to play the role. There were some good in jokes about Seth MacFarlane and Seth Green especially during the lightsabre battle which during this scene anyway didn't feel like they were dragging it too long. To summarise this was an decent episode that I did enjoy there were just more flaws in this one than the others. I now hope they lay off the Star Wars parodies because even they know they are stale now surely
