Micitype Pretty Good
Actuakers One of my all time favorites.
Zlatica One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
Scarlet The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
SnoopyStyle It's the last few weeks of school before four best friends go off on their own. Lily (Lucy Hale) is student body president organizing prom. Chloe (Kathryn Prescott) is still struggling with the loss of her brother one year later but Lily may be worst. Lily is going to Columbia and expects Chloe to go to NYU. Along with Amelia (Alexandra Shipp) and Rebecca (Awkwafina), they party and smoke weed. Noah (Alex Wolff) has a crush on Lily.I think this is trying to be a darker teen drama with humor for the modern girl. It's a struggle to get the mixture right. The comedy doesn't come off since there is the underlying sadness from the very beginning. Lily's dark abandonment issues need to be spelled out clearly and set up for later payoff. It seems to be the central issue but the movie struggles to bring it out. The good acting saves a lot of this but it's filmmaker Olivia Milch's first feature. There are good aspects and also ones that are lacking. If the audience is to care about Lily and Thomas, it would help to see their relationship. They could have a scene at the beginning with the couple talking about her losing her dad. It's a necessity. This is a valiant first attempt but it is undeniably a first attempt by a newbie.
agaphbullet Let me get this straight. I'm the kind of person who likes almost every movie he watches and all my ratings are 7+/10, usually. However, this movie was a total waste of time for me. No sense of humour, no depth of characters, very very bad acting - kinda felt like watching Twilight, seriously. Plus, there was absolutely no plot, no "hidden message" to convey, which made the movie even more boring. Nevertheless, there was one thing in that movie that really hit a nerve. I'm talking about a rape scene that was never further analyzed and the "victim" didn't even care about it (or if she did, then she is a horrible actress 'cause she didn't even seem shocked afterall). In general, the movie was too cheesy for a comedy and too superficial for a drama. I feel kind of irritated when serious problems (drugs, absent parents, drunk sex) are so irresponsibly approached; these issues are NOT to be mocked. End of story.
mpreete It's about time there is a movie about girls who smoked weed, partied, and didn't fit into this box that Hollywood has made of awkward nerdy girl trying to be popular, or perfect snotty biotch. This is how my friends and I were in high school and this is how we talked to each other, seriously, girls are gross haha. So chill the f out people, let the alt girls have this one. Plus the acting is pretty decent. As for the ending, there doesn't have to be a huge climactic love story behind every movie with female leads, it's about a moment in high school when your facing the jump to adulthood and coping with all the craziness. I think it's extremely relatable and I'm happy girls finally have this movie.
trixie-k-88 This popped up on Netflix so I gave it a try. This movie is basically a 90 minute montage of 4 teenage girls doing drugs, having sex, masturbating or talking about doing so. The actual "plot" is supposed to be the girls coping with a death of the brother of one girl/bf of another and preparing to leave high school for college. But that feels completely shoehorned in. It may have been good if they put focus on the actual plot and not going for sensationalism. Really, it's just the sex and drugs. Not worth it at all unless you just want to watch the actresses on screen.
