WasAnnon Slow pace in the most part of the movie.
Stometer Save your money for something good and enjoyable
Allison Davies The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Zandra The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
lillianshayna Dr. Dolittle 3 was very disappointing to me. I think Disney channel could produce better movies. It was too original. Not imaginative and unique like the first 2. Eddie Murphy is much better than everyone there.Sure, they think they can put a cute boy in the movie and make everyone like it. I definitely would not recommend it for someone over 8! it is just too plain and wasn't thought into well. I think the creators got desperate and added a love interest into the movie. And, is this really what parents want their children to think of themselves? That if someone makes fun of them, to just change their entire appearance.
phyllisburney It was not a bad film but the first two had more substance. Having Eddie Murphy may have made it better. There were some funny scenes when the animals found out she could talk but the dog coming from home to the ranch was a bit impossible. The one problem I had with the film is continuity. In Dr. Dolittle 2 the oldest daughter (Raven) was the one talking to the animals. They did not create a bridge to let you know how it switched to the younger daughter. The decision to release it directly on video was a good move by the producers because it was not quite as good as the first two. All in all it was an enjoyable film.
ronandboys323 Dr. Dolittle is back... well sort of. This time around the story focuses on the baby of the family Maya Dolittle who is coming into her own as a teen but with one problem, she has this annoying gift to be able to communicate with animals like her father and sister. Eager to help her find herself, her mom (Kirsten Wilson returns) insists that she goes to a Ranch to find herself and she learns that her annoying gift may be the miracle that is needed to help an old farmer save his ranch. Great story with great family fun with some old and lovable characters (Maya, Mrs. Dolittle, Lucky and the monkey) and some new ones. (her camp friends) If you liked the first 2, you'll definitely like this one!
fenrisandcat-1 I marked spoiler because I'm not sure if anything is really a "spoiler" but a better detail then the plot outlined in the listing. I just wanted to warn people in case someone feels it does contain a spoiler.Basically, now both girls have the gift. The gift of talking to animals is played as a coming of age thing. Yes, both Raven and Eddie Murphy are not in it.The story focuses on Maya. She gets in trouble at school and her mother is trying to figure out what to do with her as Maya is 17 and acting out. Maya is having a hard time fitting in like her older sister. Her mother sends Maya to Durango, a dude ranch, that her mother went to as a child. During her time there she figures out what both her sister and father did in the previous movies. Is this movie a blockbuster? Probably not. However, it is a good family-type movie. It's better than some sequels I've watched even without Eddie Murphy and Raven. (I watch between 30 and 50 movies in any given month due to my job.)
