Matialth Good concept, poorly executed.
Limerculer A waste of 90 minutes of my life
BeSummers Funny, strange, confrontational and subversive, this is one of the most interesting experiences you'll have at the cinema this year.
arfdawg-1 A crew of heroes, cleverly disguised as a team of oral hygenists, is determined to save the lost arts of Hip Hop (B-boying, Graffiti, MCing, and of course, Skratching) from total extinction. The lost arts are being oppressed throughout inner-space by lord Ook and his evil minions the Chinheads. The dental commander and his team, armed with the ancient relic known as the Wave Twister (the only weapon powerful enough to defeat the enemies), travel to the far ends of inner-space for a final confrontation with the sinister army of oppressors.I didn't like this movie one bit. It's annoying.Even if you are on heavy doses of some mind altering substance you are going to hate this movie. Plus, I had to wait for about 10 minutes of some idiot talking heads before the film would start. Then I wanted to shoot myself in the head. It's THAT bad.
jeremyk-3 Ever since I first purchased Wave Twisters, I have been in love with it. This movie is definitely not for the faint of heart or those who enjoy Mandy Moore movies. This is very abstract. It has very vivid animation which might be too much for some. Me personally, I like to sit back and puff on a fatty during the viewing. Wave Twisters was produced by some of the best Dj's in the world (Qbert won the DMC's in the early 90's and Flare is one of the most influential/significant Dj's of ALL TIME). To put it mildly, these DJ's ROCK THE HOUSE!!! If you are an avid Hip-Hop fan and can appreciate good scratching, you won't believe your eyes or ears. Whether you know anything about scratching or are just interested in the expanding enterprise of hip-hop, please please please purchase this movie, get high, turn up the volume and enjoy the show. Its really that aaammaaaazzziiinnggg!!!!
dj_rizla I've always been a fan of DJ QBert and the Invisibl Skratch Piklz, and I had high hopes for this movie, and I was not disappointed. I already had the soundtrack so I was interested to see how that was interpreted onto film. Don't be put of with the simplistic style of some of the characters, because it works so well in motion, and there are some nice special effects with QBert himself making an appearance, seamlessly blending the live action with the animation. If you're a turntablist fan, you will love this movie. If you're not interested in the music, you'll still be in for a great animated sci-fi flick, and maybe it'll give you a taste for the music, and remember, the entire soundtrack and sound effects are just QBert on the turntables.
weerdo1482-1 I have never really liked dj music, or dance music either for that matter. But a friend of mine put this in, and I was hooked. DJ Qbert has a very unique style of using records that you normally wouldn't normally exspect to hear used by by a DJ. Think old space cereals on vinyl. Also, unlike other DJ's, He uses the bare minimum. A sampler playing a beat with a few sounds, and a record player. And with that minimalistic aproach, he creates the entire sound track of this movie, the dialouge, the back ground music, the sound fx, everything! The movie itself is a combinations of sci fi cliche's and obvious plays on classics such as star trek and star wars. But there is also that layer of the street mid 80's. The constant presents of things like Atari's, old arcade style games, grafiti, toys, and old school rap essentials give the movie a very unique almost indescribable feel. If you are in to really different and exsperimental movies, you should really check it out. But, I must worn you, you might end up with a few new cd's when its all over, because the music is very addictive...
