Lovesusti The Worst Film Ever
AniInterview Sorry, this movie sucks
Pluskylang Great Film overall
Moustroll Good movie but grossly overrated
mjarvis0 In the UK we have a publishing house called Mills & Boon who specialise in romance novels. These books are not long about 230 pages and does what it says on the tin!! It is about the meeting and falling in love of two people and the obstacles they face along the way. Now if you have read any of these books you WILL appreciate Diamond Girl. I am not ashamed to say that my wife and I have read a number of Mills and Boon and this film is a good tribute to those books. The story was simple and the chemistry between the actors was there and I think Jonathan Cake is a classic Mills & Boon man. I enjoyed this film immensely and I am very happy to say that I have it as part of my DVD collection and when I need to some light entertainment to get me through an hour and a Half I will happily turn to the film Diamond Girl.
mickeyrat77 This is actually not that bad of a movie. While certainly the script and the acting leave much to be desired, there is actually great chemistry between all of the actors. I feel bad for Dyan Cannon, who is a surprise to see in this and horribly underutilized. If you happen to catch this movie (I saw it on WE - formerly the Romance Network) plan on doing something else while you watch it - like opening a bottle of wine and working on a puzzle or something. And make sure no men are around as I doubt they'd be able to stand anymore than 5 minutes or so. The movie "Diamond Girl" is sort of like pizza rolls, so terribly bad for you and greasy, processed and cheaply made, yet you find yourself consuming the lot until the very end.
RoswellJen This movie like the book was meant to be lighthearted, and cute. I think that's what it was. I watched it the first time because I had read the book. I watched and taped it the second time because the actor Jonathan Cake who played Regan is hot. So if your a follower of romance books and you like fluff then you should like this movie. Besides the love making scene in the movie is a portrayal of how most women want their lovers/husbands to act.
suessis What this is a bad movie. Well, when you start with a Diana Palmer novel it is hard to imagine that the result would be any different. While Joley Collins and Kevin Otto manage to rise above it and give reasonable performances, Jonathan Cake is out of his element. He is even more stiff and uncomfortable than his character calls for him to be. Although, he does manage a credible North American Accent.Young Blair Slater also manages to be appealing despite the script. Do yourself a favor and let me be the judge. It's not worth your time to find out if I am right or not.
