FuzzyTagz If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
Chirphymium It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
Robert Joyner The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
Allison Davies The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Michael Ledo In Auckland, New Zealand, two metal heads discover a manuscript to summon the King of The Demons. Having done that, they then try to reverse it. While the music is metal, I must question their values as true metal heads. They dis Poison, while wearing KISS make-up. They summon a demon and then panic and try to get rid of the demon. What real metal heads would try to get rid of a demon and wear KISS style make-up?The film has numerous comic elements as our "Brothers in Steel" have good one liners and situational dialogue. The effects ranged from good to a New Zealand Troma. The film makes fun of conservative Christians and most normal things.Walmart sells the film ($9.96 US) under the title "Heavy Metal Apocalypse" because "Deathgasm" doesn't fit into their family image (?).Fun film. Guide: F-bomb, implied sex, nudity.
blackcharlie-67343 It has some good effects. the humor can be enjoyable if you get drunk or stay awake for a few days with some friends. Other than that this movie doesn't have much going for it. The characters aren't very interesting, I feel like I have seen all of these characters before in several different movies. The plot is so strange. After watching the movie I didn't know if it was supposed to be a parody, regular horror film with dark juvenile humor, or a christian film trying to tell it's viewers that metal is bad.
samantha9182 Why must every horror film have humour? Why is this a must? I see people here praise the humour, but sheep aside why is this a must? Does every action movie have gore? Must every thriller have a musical segment?Deathgasm is the typical film that makes fun of metal music too inclusive of drugged out mother, troubled teenager, outcast, bullied, et cetra.. in this case this very extreme metal band has music that is softer than a gospel chant, a keyboard player and nerdy members.Whatever... the girl is the coolest but how did she all of a sudden out of nowhere become infatuated with the nerd metal guy? How did the gang's boss get killed suddenly and his henchmen switch allegiance? Why was this music magical and where did it come from? how? What? Explain? No, nothing metal band with keyboards and .... This is what people praise as a good film nowadays. No wonder Jar Jar Abrams is considered a director by some people... the world is stupid.
searkle Funny, Metal relative line and hidden jokes here and there which grabs the genre specifications eyes. I loved it, you can see the little differences of the special effects but that didn't bother me, if it doesn't bother you to much too, then you'll love this title as a metalhead. This would be my go to, movie as a "classic" to watch again and again over time just to enjoy its great story and relative target audience and nostalgia. This would also be the first movie that has casts from New Zealand as well and metal, so props to them for making both comedy/gore and metal movie all in one, and not a documentary.i doubt there would be a follow up on this, but interesting if they do.
