Cowboys trade lewd stories in the spirit of one-upmanship. Beer guzzling, bestiality and hellfire: it must be a Phil Mulloy cartoon.

Reviews

Glucedee It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.
Inmechon The movie's only flaw is also a virtue: It's jammed with characters, stories, warmth and laughs.
InformationRap This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
Aubrey Hackett While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
Michael_Elliott Cowboys: That's Nothing' (1991) *** 1/2 (out of 4) Here's another entry in Phil Mulloy's "Cowboys" series and if you're easily offended then it's best that you stay away from this one. A bunch of cowboys are in a bar getting drunk when one tells a sex stories. This causes another one to out do him in regards to the dirty stories and soon they go back and forth trying to tell the most disgusting stories. I'm sure some will find the sex jokes here to be very childish and perhaps they are but so what? The most important thing is that they were actually very funny so I had no problem with how crude they were. Yes, it's smart to keep the children away from this but I think adult viewers with a dark sense of humor might get a few laughs out of this. The opening story with the oral sex and what happens to the man was quite funny as was each "story" that followed simply because the animation was so (purposely) crude that it just helped sell the jokes.
MartinHafer Tonight, I watched many of the Cowboys shorts by Phil Mulloy. They are all very similar in that they feature black painted animation and it's very, very, very simple and not particularly attractive and lacks fluidity. Perhaps it was meant to look this way deliberately, but technically speaking this wasn't exactly a pretty film.Of all the Cowboys shorts by Mulloy, this is the most patently offensive and apparently pointless. The poorly animated residents of this Western town spend most of the short performing various gay sex acts on each other (some will DEFINITELY shock the more timid viewers) that I probably am not allowed to explain in detail on IMDb. By the end, the cowboys have all degenerated to bestiality in an apparent attempt to "one up" the next guy.Amazingly, someone thought all this was funny. While I am not a total prude, I at least think that crude humor should have a point other than to offend and I just couldn't see the point. Bad animation quality and a bizarre message that was lost on me.
