Sexyloutak Absolutely the worst movie.
Odelecol Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.
Zandra The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
Kimball Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
jadzia92 The full marks are given for Dena Kollar and Sheila Platte.Costa Rican is kind of like Fraternity Vacation and Dena and Sheila are rather like Barbara Crampton and Kathleen Kinmont from Fraternity Vacation. While Barbara and Kathleen had one beautiful nude scene together in Fraternity Vacation, Dena and Sheila have several nude scenes together in Costa Rican Summer. While there are two other lovely women in this movie Susan Ward and Julianna Guill both of whom kept their breasts hidden, Dena and Sheila truly owns this movie as the plot was of little interest to me.The two boys in this movie on constantly seeing the girls' breasts says that it is a show they have seen before. In contrast to those boys' viewpoint, it is a show, like Barbara and Kathleen in Fraternity Vacation, that I intend to see over and over again forever.
AussieTastic *** This review may contain spoilers *** Please be aware that within the first 5 minutes of this movie there will be the exposure of bare breasticles. *** This review may contain spoilers ***Hmmm...... I don't think too many people liked this one.Comedy would have to be one of the hardest genres to undertake, as it is so subjective and to say this a comedy is a bit of a stretch. The movie seems to be in conflict with itself, in terms of the mixing of elements, with attempts at comedy in some parts while trying to portray serious drama in others and then a weird mixture of both, as well as a random smattering of bare breasts. It just upsets the flow of the movie and makes me wonder what the target audience is, but let's not over analyse this puppy. The premise of the movie is OK and has a basic storyline, so many of these surfer type movies are devoid any story and are just about bums, tits, drugs and catching a gnarly wave. Susan Ward (Carla) does a great job and made this movie watchable with Julianna Guill (Eva) doing well also, however did not mesh well with the Brock Kelly (Kyle) character and he didn't really seem to fit the part or make believable that being friends with the other two surfer drop-kicks was possible.I have to agree that the Peter Dante character Dinger was hard to get accustomed to in the beginning, probably due to all the crazy Pammy fantasies, however becomes bearable after his transformation. The two (over the top) Swedish girls were sort of funny and are required for the introduction of the bare boobies (woo hoo!).Overall, I think this is a movie that will make most people cringe, although there are some good and some funny parts most was tedious, but there was something that made me keep watching......... it was the dollar I paid for it!....... All the way up to the most unbelievable ending.
jasiel It has something that makes you want to keep watching, perhaps the fact that it reflects the true life in the area, but the movie itself is not that funny. The 2 Swedish girls and the 2 surfer guys are lame in the acting role. I am from Costa Rica and I like the fact that it really feels like you are there, the noticeable lack of expensive filming equipment gives the impression is a low budget movie but at the same time provides a more natural / relaxing effect which is what non-commercial beaches should give you. So I give them credit for that. Also, not very impressed with the character of Dolittle. He does look like a surfer but those fantasies, completely unreal and not fun in my opinion.
Paul Magne Haakonsen This movie was supposed to be a teen comedy? Ehm, it never got anywhere near being a teen comedy. It was much more like watching a creature with its final death gurgles! It was unbearable. The story was lacking contents. It seemed like someone had an idea during a drinking party, and that idea somehow made it to a movie.Throughout the entire movie, I laughed maybe once. And that was at the vomiting scene. That, however, was priceless though. The rest of the movie was attempting to be funny, but never got its head above the waves.Out of the entire cast, only Susan Ward (playing aunt Carla) was the only one doing a good job. The teens had no emotions and lacked the ability to come through on the screen. The guy who played Dinger (Peter Dante), wow... that was unbelievably unbearable to watch! And how they managed to get Pamela Anderson into this movie is beyond me. But just take a look at her "acting", she seems like she doesn't really want to it as well. And what was up with the fake Swedish accent? People from Sweden do not sound like drunken German people in a bad World War II movie. I am from Denmark, and I know what Swedish people sound like when speaking English - and this is not it at all! This movie is wrongfully labeled 'comedy'.You might like it if you are into surfing and enjoy mindless movies.I just read on IMDb that there is a part 2 on the way. That fact is simply beyond my comprehension! My advise to you is to stay well clear of this movie! It is a waste of time, and trust me, you don't want to let an hour and a half go to waste on this. Sadly, I did, and I am scarred for life.
