Bereamic Awesome Movie
Nessieldwi Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.
AshUnow This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
wmusiwa See review 1/10 by mauro volvox who couldn't have said it any better.
Michael Ledo Jennifer (Jennifer Fraser) is a bubbly lovable sociopath who likes to film stuff. She wants to film killing someone from the planning phase all the way through the body disposal. Her boyfriend/husband? Farhang (Farhang Ghajar) who is a Persian Ethiopian, or something, goes along with it, as the things we do for love. He has second thoughts and is pushed when he gets cold feet. This is a hand held feature by a couple who spends big bucks for a camera and won't invest in a cheap tripod so they can both chop up a body or dig a grave together. The film is a dark comedy and not as overtly funny as "Psychos in Love." You won't find yourself laughing (hopefully) but will be looking at the complexity of love and human nature. The problem was that the movie was low budget and the filming was bad as if to prove a point. Just because a hand held camera element is in the film, doesn't mean the entire film has to be a hand held camera and shot poorly. We can get the idea if we see someone filming someone else with an occasional view from their camera. I got a deal on E-Bay where the tripod came with the camera. I bet that guy is on Amazon too.6 soft stars for the subject matter. The actual quality of the production lacked merit.Guide: F-word. Sex. No nudity.
FIoret Although Farhang was annoying and bitch boy in every way possible the film still worth the watch. Jennifer, played by Jennifer was believable as an attention needy sick woman. Watch till the very end for the movie to be worth worth the experience. The true sad star was poor ole Gary and the cat :(
jtindahouse I wanted to like 'Capture Kill Release', I really did. I'm a big fan of the "found footage" genre. It has produced some of my favourite horror films because it can be a very effective tool when used correctly. 'Capture Kill Release' however, was not a film that should have used it. The point of using it is to make things feel as realistic as possible and thus more scary. The way this film used it though had the opposite effect. Instead, I kept thinking to myself how absurd it was that they were filming this and how completely unrealistic the whole thing was.Another problem I had with this movie was it that it was supposed to be a horror, yet it never once feels like a horror other than the odd bit of gruesome dismemberment. It plays out more like a drama. And that would be fine if that was what they were intending (in fact I think that would have made for a much better film had it focused itself in that direction), but you can clearly tell that they were indeed trying to make a horror movie and simply failed miserably. Add in some pretty horrible acting from the entire cast and you have a complete misfire. A 90 minute film should never feel this long, dull and drawn out. There are some brilliant films out there in the "found footage" genre. I suggest watching one of those instead.
