Actuakers One of my all time favorites.
FeistyUpper If you don't like this, we can't be friends.
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Logan By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
phanthinga All i can say about Beyond Skyline is not bad for a sequel to a movie releases seven years ago that nobody want except for the fan and it even better than before with a new director and a impressive cast from both the East and the West.Beyond Skyline take place right after the first one with a new main character Frank Grillo and although the movie is very genetic Frank and Iko Uwais make it as entertaining as possible with the highlight in the third arc where the alien get a real good ass kicking. This movie don't make back any money at the box office so i doubt there will be Skyline 3 but look at how we got Beyond Skyline only time will tell
paulclaassen There can be no denying this is a brilliant sci-fi production, and probably a lucrative franchise in the making. This is non-stop action and excitement from the beginning, and some scenes will no doubt leave you breathless. The visuals are fantastic, considering the small budget. Liam O'Donnell once again proves Hollywood does not have to fork out hundreds of millions of dollars to make good sci-fi films. So well done, Liam!I must admit, though, although I thoroughly enjoyed this installment, I did enjoy the first one more, but on a completely different level. 'Skyline' was more realistic and therefore more suspenseful and mysterious. 'Beyond Skyline' was pure sci-fi and concentrated more on the aliens and the alien ships, continuing the saga from where the first film ended. The ending screams for a sequel and to be quite honest, I can't wait to see the continuation of this great new franchise.Frank Grillo makes a really credible hero, so I hope to see him in the sequels.
jsliberatore Maybe some minor spoilers here, but come on, what is there to spoil? It's bad. How bad is it? Well, the movie revolves around aliens who steal brains; it starts in LA, then there's about an hour escaping the alien mothership, then they land in Vietnam and everyone knows martial arts, including the aliens (you know, because, Asia). Yes, including the token female, who was a subway engineer at the beginning of the movie. It all wraps up in some kind of macho fantasy with fighting robots and some paper-thin inspirational boondoggles about human resilience. The action sequences are so silly that I just want them to get on with it... but when the action stops, attempts at character and story development are excruciating! Yea yea, the little girl is the key to the blah blah blah... turn this glowing blue orb into a glowing red orb... I'm not saying you shouldn't watch it-you just have to know what you're getting into. I like bad movies. I like movies that try, but are still bad, like maybe they're not quite in on the joke (for that reason, I don't like movies like Sharknado, where everyone is in on it). That's this movie. It's a special kind of bad movie, that might just hit the spot if you're looking for something truly absurd.
Matt Hutson Beyond Skyline is the unneeded sequel to the 2010 flop movie Skyline. Although I love science fiction I wasn't much of a fan of Skyline. So why did I choose to watch the sequel? I like the main actor Frank Grillo who stared in The Purge: Anarchy. The second aspect is the fact that the second half of thBeyond Skylinee movie took place in Yogyakarta, Indonesia at Prambanan Temple. There Are two famous Indonesian actors staring in this film and I'm actually living in the country part of it was filmed in.The Plot An L.A. detective with a drinking problem (Grillo) gets a call to come down to the police station to get his son out of holding. This is where the action starts at the very beginning. The aliens come blaring in attracting all the humans who look into the blue lights which suck them up into the ship hovering over the city. The detective and son make it into the subway with several passengers and the operator of the subway hiding from the blue lights. Eventually they get sucked up into the ship, fight a bit and crash land in Indonesia where they meet Kanye (Pamelyn Chee) and Sua (Iko Uwais) teaming up to defeat the aliens with some interesting twists along the way.My Thoughts I just couldn't really get into the movie. I thought the fighting was alright but it just seemed to be random. Just as an example. There was this blind character who I though might have some key role since he was in the movie about halfway through but then just ended up dying a useless death. There were a few positives though such as a bit more explanation of why the aliens were on Earth and the fact we got a chance to see inside the alien ships. The location was exotic of course. It's Indonesia! The key to defeating the aliens was also unique as well and very human.Overall I wouldn't recommend watching this unless you know these Indonesian actors or you're a fan of Frank Grillo. There was just no substance to the movie.
