FuzzyTagz If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
Philippa All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Guillelmina The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
Scarlet The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Randell_2010-100-115448 This show had my heart and emotions racing. Between the gorgeous animation and the emotional journey of Violet, I was unable to stop watching. Thirteen episodes is simply not enough. Violet is mesmerizing and her story is captivating. Season two get here soon!
pierreindc Solid story with deep emotional content. The art is stunningly beautiful. Deserves a 10/10.
Alina Don't let the words "the weapon" in the summary fool you. This is not a story about some weapon or about a war and filled with action. Rather it's a story about the aftermath of war and about the human emotion. Violet goes out to learn about emotions by writing letters for people, her goal is to understand the words "I love you". The pace in this series is slow and leveled, it won't hold you at the edge of your seat with suspense, but the curiosity about Violet's journey will make you want to keep watching. The series managed to portray very well the feeling of loss, and made the characters feel alive. Although it had some down sides as well: Like the whole profession that was called "Auto Memories Dolls" , this title made no sense to me but maybe it's just bad translation. The fact that Violet's past and abilities were never explained, though I guess it could be argued that the series on purpose tried not to touch this subject. And I think what bothered me the most is the smooth transaction from emotionless puppet who killed people without bashing an eye to someone who could be considered a normal person after a relative short time. It could be a nice series to pass the time, but also can be dull in moments.
asiagood The plot, the animation, the character design was amazing. (especially since this was from Netflix!?) This anime look like it would of been produced from a studio that made other great new movies like 5 Centimeters a Second or Your Name.(English Titles) Everyone I have recommended this to has enjoyed it.I thought it had a little too much blood for the action that was shown, but I am thankful that studios can make good anime without magic/gore because it's really hard nowadays not to see magic/gore in a anime! YOU CAN MAKE GOOD ANIME WITHOUT MAGIC and this anime is evidence!! Hopefully us anime fans can expect more anime like this, less gore/magic more story/plot/feelings/Amazing Visuals! Definitely going to be on my top 10 anime shows to recommend. It has been a while since a good show like this has been produced.
