Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.

At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

The central idea is interesting, but once in season 2 the limitations of the show are evident. There's not much that works beyond the gay jokes that seem repetitive by now. The secondary character are too conventional, too stereotypical sitcom material.

Personally I believe the Real O'Neals is one of the quality comedy that have been overlooked during the past year. Not mentioning the diversity exposed in show, watching this comedy series is pure fun. Honesty the whole family, including VP Murray, are a bunch of weirdos having their own issues, but they are all kind, all willing to listen to each other with a open mind to observe things that are new to them. My favorite character is the big brother, Jimmy. He's a little dumb, but really cute!Season 1 is a very good start, but season 2 is getting better and better. Just finished episode 11, and I laughed like a fool!

The reason MILLION MOM'S and the CATHOLIC CHURCH are boycotting the station for this show about the young Mr. Savage is not because it is pro-gay and anti-Christian, but because it is very offensive in every way possible. They hang a Holy Mary over the toilet so the boys remember to not pee on the seat. They make Christian cookies to make the son who is bulimic eat. This show uses every old THREE'S COMPANY theme ever. Over hear a secret on an open mic -- check. Girl learns karate to protect herself and becomes a bully -- check. Girl starts a charity and steals from it -- check. Jesus doesn't visit Christian parents but visit gay son who doesn't believe in him daily -- what? The show won't last. Too liberal. Gets less views than several shows that were cut this year. The GLAAD folks are pushing it so it might get a second season but with the lowest viewership in its time zone, won't last. To me, the biggest issue is it is just not funny. SKIT THIS

This show is off to a good start. Outstanding cast; very happy to see Martha Plimpton on TV again and the kid playing the Gay son is very funny and talented. I hope they explore more family situations involving a Gay family matter. Too bad the Catholic League can't see how much love there is in this family and how supportive they are of each other. THAT is what family is all about! I have watched all three episodes aired and have enjoyed all of them. The writing is good and should keep getting better. This show is funny and I'm very happy its on an early hour so families can watch together. Check it out. I'll keep watching!
