The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.

The acting in this movie is really good.

There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

And Im not exaggerating. Usually with fan produced stuff you notice the budged constraints and somewhat beginner approach quickly, the color grading, some actors and their performance, story lines etc... This however, boy. The guy playing Kirk is indistinguishable from Shatner almost, the mannerism, the stance, the voice pattern. Its all spot on. The camera work is exactly the same as in TOS. While the surroundings are a throwback to TOS, combined with today's CGI, its at the same time a perfect homage to the original and also a polished excellent product as a series. And lets not forget the stories, the core of ST. We all know certain ST series were/are not up to par on that front. The ST stories were extremely witty moral quandaries with exceptional, often completely unforeseen, twists at the end and at the same times often breaking social taboos. This series sticks hard to that in most episodes while at the same times balancing it out wonderfully with enough humour and action as the original TOS and other great ST series. All in all, please give it a chance if you are a ST fan and especially if you like and cherish the original series with Kirk. This show has none of the drawbacks of other fan made series, there is zero evidence its anything other than 100% studio financed product in terms of production and at the same times 100% loyal to all the core values and elements of ST universe that we love and that made it great.

Just watched E10 "To Boldly Go: Part 1" and I can see that the writing, set designs, costumes, sound, photography keeps improving. "Star Trek Continues" is far better than "Star Trek Continues" which has much more money to continue the ST saga. Kudos to these Star Trek fans for keeping it authentic to the TOS used to be!

Star Trek Continues is made with meticulous attention to detail and great effort. There are episodes, for example "Lolani" that come with a hair breadth of TOS show quality. The FX are set to emulate those of TOS. Consequently, the FX may seem more slick in some of the other fan produced shows, but the story telling, characters and pacing are a perfect emulation of TOS. Even the on-board banter between the crew, the angle of the camera shots, lighting, all of those are perfectly recreated. The acting, while not quite at the level of professional experienced Hollywood actors, evolves to a surprising level of professionalism, rising well above the wooden acting in many other fan produced Trek films. Highly recommend seeing Star Trek Continues - it will leave you feeling like you just saw another canon episode of Star Trek TOS.

I'm going to keep this relatively short,I am normally skeptical of amateurly produced star trek or anything for that matter but the attention to detail and the atmosphere created by these episodes is fantastic.I would like to congratulate Vic Mignogna firstly on his wonderful characterisation of James T Kirk and secondly for his dedication to the production (I even noticed his name in the carpentry credits). What has been achieved here by this collective could be the beginning of something bigger than star trek TOS.If the same production values of this series are applied to another franchise then the general public can look forward to limitless episodes of their favourite series regardless of networks, advertising and commercial interests.Anyway, enough gushing, congratulations again to cast and crew and keep up the exceptional work.
