BootDigest Such a frustrating disappointment
CrawlerChunky In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
Megamind To all those who have watched it: I hope you enjoyed it as much as I do.
Roman Sampson One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
CameronJohnH Skins is one of them shows I would not be appealed to at first, mainly because it sets itself as a teen drama but after watching the first season, I was damn impressed on how much I actually cared for these characters. With Season 2 going more in-depth I couldn't be more invested. And now this is my problem with Skins, they never clear anything up with there primary characters, I was frustrated not knowing what happened with Sid and Cassie, but a part of me could live with it and just assume he finally found her (which he did as explained in season 7) the majority of the characters of the 'first generation' was pretty much cleared up actually I guess it's more to do with the second generation now if I am honest I continued watching Skins because of Effy, Kaya Scodelario owns the role she's the heart of Skins. And the ending of Season 4 was the part where I got so frustrated, first off a character died which I couldn't of been more disappointed. Nothing was cleared up at all, did Effy find out? I felt like season 4 deserved more episodes to clear it up. Yes parts are explained in Season 7 (the redux) as they called it but at the time, you didn't know, and you actually like the secondary generation on the same level as the first and how season 4's ended it automatically alienated the third generation but even so nothing about season 5 & 6 is memorable at all. The plot and characters became petty and annoying and season 7 was a wasted opportunity because it some how twisted it's character giving Cook & Cassie and okay send off but considering Effy was my favorite I was extremely disappointed by itBut this doesn't stop Skins being watchable at least Season 5 & 6 the journey of these characters are good but the finales of them all are not so satisfying I'm afraid.
Ewan Suttie The 1st generation of Skins (Season 1/2) is an immensely gripping British Drama, with great acting, story lines, and lovable characters. It's funny, emotional, weird, and deciphers the lives of British teenager years fantastically well, and in such a way that it's impossible to not like any of the characters. No other television show has made me laugh, cry and feel for the characters like this before. After the departure of the characters we've come to know and love, a new, less likable bunch arrive. I'm not sure if these where the writers intentions, but season 3 - 7 fail to grab the essence of the original two season's. The acting isn't even comparable to the 1st generation, the humor level is dumbed down to fart jokes and penis jokes, which is something the 1st never did, or if so, did in a way that didn't make it seem forced or even remotely like cheap writing. There are a few good moments and a few characters that made me laugh a couple of times, but these are the characters that are just copies of the old ones, and these same characters seem as if they are trying to balance the weight of the entire show on their shoulders. It's just not the same, and because you get so emotionally attached to the first generation's excellently written characters, narratives and style, it's hard to fall in love again. Season one and two - 9/10Season 3-7 - 6.5.
brooksbrown I would honestly rather go to Europe and live there than watch this show and saying that means this show is crap even the US version sucks as bad as this one. The dialog is distasteful, the acting is medium grade and the cast looks like a bunch of meth addicts. Who ever actually like this crap show i feel extremely bad for you because this must mean you are actually from England or somewhere like that, i mean its all the same to me and if you are not from there you are just special. Also i can barely understand what they are saying with there accents Also this show makes no sense because almost everything in this show would not happen in eal life at all, never at all NEVER.
jamieleepugh Skins is a love/hate show, you either steer clear of it or you watch it and get hooked. After watching series 1&2, you fall in love with most aspects of it, and some of the characters, too. The main storyline in S2:E1 is Maxxie's dream to go off to London and dance, but so many set-backs hold him back, the main thing, Tony who was hit by a bus and brain-damaged.Maxxie is an amazing character portrayed by a wonderful actor (Mitch Hewer) and his story of his homosexuality runs right up to his last episode where he finally moves to London with his boyfriend and best friend, Anwar. However when the last episode of series 2 ends, you feel lost and getting to S3:E1, it is a huge disappointment. You can't get into it for some reason. It's also poorly written and portrayed by great actors, but terrible characters.Skins is a fantastic show but the first generation of people is far, far better.
