ThrillMessage There are better movies of two hours length. I loved the actress'performance.
Arianna Moses Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
adonis98-743-186503 A group of teenage friends and their Great Dane (Scooby-Doo) travel in a bright green van solving strange and hilarious mysteries, while returning from or going to a regular teenage function. For a 1969-1970 TV show for kids this version of Scooby-Doo is easily one of the best shows of that time with a lot of fun and adventure but of course a lot of clues that you will love all the characters are interesting and most of the ghosts or in this case villains were really good also the title song of the show was really good and memorable and i still love it to this day. I'll give "Scooby Doo, Where Are You!" (1969) an 10 out of 10.
calvinnme ...and I doubt younger people have ever even seen the original Saturday morning cartoons. Four high school students - Daphne, Fred, Shaggy, and Velma - travel around in their van with their Great Dane Scooby Doo, and are constantly running into what appears to be some paranormal phenomenon that has a perfectly logical explanation and is usually the cover for some criminal enterprise. The guilty party is hauled away at the end by the police yelling "And I'd gotten away with it too, if not for those darn kids!". People today, especially if they saw the original cartoons, see spoofs of this and instantly recognize the cultural reference. As for "the scoobies" themselves - Daphne is a good looking girl with long red hair, Fred is a blonde muscular guy, Velma is a less attractive girl with glasses but very smart, and Shaggy is, well, a shaggy looking guy. Shaggy is usually cowering somewhere with Scooby Doo, afraid of whatever ghost, alien, etc. the foursome plus dog have encountered. The reference to "the scoobies" in the TV series "Buffy and the Vampire Slayer was talking about the diverse group of friends who fought the demons on the show. South Park spoofed Scooby Doo a couple of times, complete with the kind of goofy background music that the Scooby Doo show had. I'm sure there are others, but I am aware of these two.Just think, if the age of zero tolerance and curfews had started in the 60s rather than the 80s, so many criminals would have gotten away with it, because the scoobies would have been locked in their rooms at night, doing their homework, trying to get into Harvard. Weirdest factoid - Casey Kasem, host of the long running Sunday radio show "American Top 40" that counted down the top 40 hits of the week, was the voice of Shaggy. Who would have figured.
haroldcheese Scooby-Doo was a big part of my childhood and was one of my favorite cartoons (Alongside Dexters Laboratory,Powerpuff Girls,Hong Kong Phooey and Danger Mouse). My favorite character is Shaggy as he is funny. I love his voice provided by the late Casey Casem. my favorite monsters are Miner 49er,Black Knight Ghost,Captain Cutler and Captain Redbeard. Definitely a classic cartoon not to be missed at any cost although I suggest skipping the later episodes with Scrappy as they are awful.Plus Fred,Daphne and Velma are absent so it misses the charm of the classic 1969-78 shows. 9/10. Kids will love the adventures of Scooby and the adults will certainly have a nostalgic spot for him too.
leplatypus This show is from a CD-Video that i collected in cereals boxes dated from the first movie release. In fact, I got all the 4 different boxes but I am pretty sure that I didn't eat all the cereals! If the X-files were the mystery show of my College years, Scooby was the one from my school years. It was broadcast every Wednesday afternoon on the first channel. But I don't recall to have been a great fan then: my preference went to Goldorak! By then, I remember it was a cool mix between horror and fun and that the stories kept repeating: a mystery, some monsters, then clues and the solving and arrest of mere crooks…Then, I discovered it again while a trainee in Belgium in 2002! This time, the shows were seen every morning and I realized that it was really crazy: a lot of great laughs made me become a Scooby addict! In 2003, after I visited the Warner bros park in Madrid, I came back with a real size soft toy Scooby! I saw the first movie at its release! One of my dreams would to see all the classic cartoons but they aren't released in France in DVD! That's why I bought cereals box! If the other shows are 1.11:"A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts", 1-13: "Which Witch is Which?", 1-17: "That's Snow Ghost"), I choose 2-2: "Vampire Bats and Scaredy Cats" because it was the best: all the things that makes Scooby, maybe the best cartoon ever, are there: the 70 colorful fashion, the classic cast (plus Scrappy!) and art … Scooby is really a deep character because he is easily afraid but terribly bold, dumb but brilliant and I just like the running sequences and all the crazy gags! Have you got that with Disney or Looney tunes? I don't think so
