SpunkySelfTwitter It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.
Dynamixor The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
Freeman This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Hugo Capocci I just finished watching the whole series, and I'm disappointed...Why ? Just because in the end, it's the like the "hades chapter" never happened... no legendary clothes, no 8th sens (Arayashiki) never existed...I know manga used to don't care about consistency and logic, but this time, it's too much; Omega could have been a nice new series with a brand new beginning, but I think this is just a big bullshit created in order to sell new toys.Watch it and make your own idea, but for real fans, I don't think this series will count for 'real' in the saint seyia universe. Maybe a new-new beginning will erase this from our memories, who knows ?
richnieh I put 5 stars out of 10 just because I am a fan since young so for being a fan of the series, I gave an honourable 5 but it can be worse.First of all, I don't like the title. I know it is a spin off but it is just wrong to put a character's name on it when the main character is not that character.Secondly, it really bothers me before that Brass Saints just beat up everyone and continue to be lower level Saints. They ends up to be the strongest Saints and defeated many godly opponents. I actually liked Hades saga because the Gold Saints were involving in a lot of fighting and showed their great powers. This new instalment just does not make any sense that Brass Saints just keep defeating Godlike characters for no obvious explanation or storyline. They just suddenly become so strong and overpowering anyone on their way. Gold Saints become secondary and we already know they cannot reach Omega level by now.Thirdly, I actually find that the story is interesting in a certain way and the drawing technical is improved but it is about the links between the chapters. Nothing particularly makes sense between the chapters. Other fighting Manga like Narutos, Dragon Ball or One Piece shows improvement of the characters, they learn through their adventure and gradually become stronger as the story develops, which makes more sense and enjoyable to read/watch. Saint Seya Omega story is nice but lack of sense that other mega provides.
stermix501 What I liked in the old series was that it was referring a lot to mythology and astronomy. There were things to be intrigued and do a little research. The gold saints were also mostly impressive, but not all. The new series has everything that was bad and gave nothing good new. All those Japanese guys so concerned about saving a Greek Goddess continues not to make much sense. And that Goddess, all the time powerless and helpless like a character of an SM movie. The evolution remains as bas as: goddess/world in danger, new powerful enemy appear, but those good saints after thinking about their friendship will win against any other God.What a disappointment that they didn't really try to make something new and better, just copying the past story, changing a bit the costumes and losing the links to mythology. The new protagonists are very dull, especially this Koga guy with red hair, none can relate with. The drawings are awful and cheaply made, the fights are like a little girl's fairy tale with costumes out of crystals and no blood. The only good news was to see Kikky grown up as Aries saint and Seiya. All the rest is awful. When I think that they stopped the excellent "Lost Canvas" series to replace it with this, I just want to cry
Rectangular_businessman Well, this was incredibly disappointing.I appreciate that "Saint Seiya Omega" tried to be something different and more original (After all, one of the most common criticism made about the original Saint Seiya anime was concerned about the predictability of the plots, being mostly centered in the journey made by the Bronze Saints to save goddess Athena of the new enemy...Despite that, I still like a lot that anime series) I also appreciate the fact that more humor was added, and that it sometimes shows the possible future of some the characters of the original series, introducing a new generation of Saints to this story. What I didn't liked about this new anime series is how boring and generic it turned out to be, having very ugly and uninspired designs (The new Saint Cloths are awful, and some of them look more like magical girl dresses) The new characters are very insipid: Koga is clearly an expy of Seiya, while Aria plays the role that Saori/Athena had in the original anime, but their relationship feels somewhat bland and forced. On the other side, Haruto Wolf (Who is also a ninja, go figure) not only seem to belong to a completely different series, but also is very unlikeable. The more interesting characters from this new series were actually the ones from the original series, even if their role in this story is reduced to some occasional cameos. In fact, those cameos are the only reason why I'm still watching this show, still waiting to see when the plot is going to turn interesting. (I have seen 21 episodes so far, and I'm still not impressed for what I saw) "Saint Seiya Omega" is not even that original. In fact, it "borrows" several elements from other franchises, such as Pokemon, Naruto, Sailor Moon and even Harry Potter. The worst part is that not even the combination of all those elements are enough to make it more interesting. And deep inside (Very, very deep inside) The plot is still more of the same, with a new generation of Saints trying to save the Athena goddess."Saint Seiya Omega" lacks both of the entertainment value of the original anime series, and the epic quality of "The Lost Canvas". It isn't very good as a series unrelated to "Saint Seiya", either, being very weak and commercial.I guess that everything changes with time, but the changes not always are good.
