waveys Hi i'm lucas i am 16 years old, on the first year of high school . And today i'm going to do a review on Roots 2016. i'm not a fan of this type of movie but i was surprised ! The actors of this movie or this mini-serie are very amazing, we can feel the distress on her face. The music is fantastic aswell, for me the music represent a big part of the movie and we can hear the same music a lot of time. For bad point i note the little using of special effect on this movie , it's a film of 2016 , they would use more special effect so as to give this film more realist .For finish i find this movie like all films of slaves , for me there is no originality , if you ever see a « slave movie » you don't will see innovation .

Before watching this movie, I expected a typical movie about slavery but this movie is different because its storyline is very original and superb. This movie relates the storyline of Kunta Kinte, an African warrior captured by a rival clan to be sold in America to become slave. The actor's name of Kunta Kinte is Malachi Kirby and his performance is legendary and emotional, it's a good future actor with a big potential. The movie takes place in the Africa's landscapes and it's beautiful. the sound track is very outstanding because there are many African's song which are awesome and beautiful. A personally, I think is a good movie for people who love historic movie, I had like this movie.

lisahers For me, being just 15 years old and I have seen the history of slavery in classes of English and history and I find it is very captivating and also horrific. When I discovered the theme of this series I understood immediately there will be violence when I would watch! This movie spoke about the slavery. How the black men were treat like animals. The theme of the movie was a very excellent idea! I have found the performance of actors are admirable and phenomenal, even if this movie was a little scary and terrifying but it showed the reality of things. I find the soundtracks are the same every time or almost every time. When I finished this movie I felt confused because I am shocked of the fierceness of the white men, they were very stupid! Before I watch this movie I thought I was not the public of this type of movie and contrary to my expected I have liked this movie!

Luce What a lost opportunity to illustrate African history accurately. Portrayal of Muslim women in "bikinis" is farcical, and the ignoring of indigenous religions in favour of the easier portrayal of Islam is a pity but unsurprising. I was hopeful, considering the controversy surrounding the first TV series, but sadly disappointed. School children the world over have been sold another misrepresentation of history.
