Synopsis

This partially unscripted comedy brings viewers into the squad car as incompetent officers swing into action, answering 911 calls about everything from speeding violations and prostitution to staking out a drug den. Within each episode, viewers catch a "fly on the wall" glimpse of the cops' often politically incorrect opinions, ranging from their personal feelings to professional critiques of their colleagues.

Curapedi I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
ThedevilChoose When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
ossray2000 First off, I'll just say that this show is absolutely hilarious. Going into the show, it helps to know that most of the dialogue is improvised, while helps you appreciate that a lot of the good material is thanks to the actors themselves, not just the writers. Each episode generally has a main plot broken up by several shorter sketches featuring funny crime scenes and interviews with the officers. The combination of uncanny deadpan comedy, great improv work, and very creative writing makes for a great show. It has great rewatchability as you notice new subtle expressions and hilarious remarks within the improv. I would highly recommend purchasing the DVD's since you can watch the episodes in order and the special features are very good, specifically the "uncut" versions of some scenes, which is basically 5 minutes of the characters improvising off each other, then using the best parts in the show.
deaniac1-1 I was so excited when I heard about this show. I was an avid "The State" fan, and I really missed them. Whenever I heard someone yelling about putting balls in something, I would get a pang of times lost. Suffice it to say, I managed to stay home from work, just to watch the first episode. It was worth it. I don't think I even stopped laughing until the end of the show. Everything these guys touch just goes to pot(sometimes literally). And though all the characters are totally flawed and possibly dangerous to themselves and others, you really can't help but feel a little sorry for them. I still wouldn't want to have them around trying to keep the peace, or some semblance of it.... If you don't watch it now, catch up! You'll love yourself for it. Go Reno!
jabberwocky-6 RENO 911! is the best in comedy in a long time. It is hilariously funny and unpredictable, the characters are so true to life. You never know what is going to come up next. If you haven't watched this show you must! I guarantee, you will get hooked as I did. I even rush home now to tape the shows since I don't know how to set the timer on my TV/VCR to tape(unbelievable, right)? Now I have all my friends and co-workers watching it. This is a fun crazy no holds barred show. What most of the people I know like about this show is the actors seem like they are the actual characters they are portraying. Comedy can be hard but there is no better comedy than this. It doesn't have a stale routine(like yeah I know whats going to happen next). You also never know what may come out of their mouths. They cover every area of life, no stone is left unturned in this show. The Lt. with his shorts(ha,ha,ha)is so funny. The acting is meticulous! Please watch!
movieman_kev Reno 911, is for all extents and purposes a sketch show under the guise of a "Cops" parody, with documentarians following around the keystonian cops of Reno, Nevada. Sure there are plot lines, but they're rather loose. Why didn't I review the first season? Well quite frankly, I found the second season to click more for me, funnier, and the whole DVD package is just better all around. This season has the whole milkshake incident, Trudy (Kerri Silver) finding someone to love, whom turns out to be a murderer, the squad 'protecting' Kenny Rogers, among other misadventures. And while it's not the best comedy currently on TV (that honor goes to "Arrested Development", "Curb your Enthusiasm", or "Scrubs"). And not the best comedy on Comedy Central (I like "Chappele's Show", and "South Park" more). But this show can be pretty funny sometimes too.My Grade: B- DVD Extras: Disc 1) Comedy Central quickies for "Drawn Together", "Chapelle's Show" & "South Park"; Trailers for "Chapelle's Show" Season 2, "Crank Yankers" Season 2 Volume 1, and "South Park" Season 5. Disc 2) Commentaries on episodes 10 (by Cedric Yarbrough & Niecy Nash), 11 (by Wendi Covey and Carlos Alazraqui), and 14 (Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant). Disc 3) Commantary on Show 16 by Kerri Silver and Director, Micheal Jan); Drug Arrestment Seminer skit from HBO's 2004 US Comedy Arts Festival in 2 parts (42 minutes in total); 13 Deleted/Alternative scenes equaling 89 minutes in all 4 Easter Eggs: on Disc 1, highlight a part of the walkie-talker for 7 minutes of Outtakes of a commercial for the Season 1 DVD; On Disc two there's a hidden question mark to the right of "Episode 14", highlight & click on it for 6 minutes of Reno 911 merchandise hawking; On Disc 5 highlight the O in "RenO" on the main page for some cast members re-dubbing episode 15 ; and in the extras page highlight Lieutenant Dangle shorts for some cast members re-dubbing episode 16
