jwalsh840308 I wasn't sure what to expect in this show, and was honestly pretty much blown away. It's funny and cute and just kind of great. I appreciate the subtle and not-so-subtle humor, the quirky characters, and the general story-line. The cast works perfectly together and I love how they come together as a community throughout the show. I really appreciate a funny show that gives me the feels (I suppose some may think that the show gets too gooey, but I love it).
darrin_gross Martha Plimpton and Garret Dillahunt's relationship is as hysterical as it is heartwarming. Never has a TV couple made me laugh and cry the writers did a wonderful job of showing what true soul mates are and how money doesn't matter when you have your true love. I enjoyed the constant references to "My name is Earl" Had to watch all 4 seasons a second time and was amazed at how many references I missed the fist time. Lucas Neff and Shannon Woodward was a great casting choice and played there parts perfectly. The other characters that brought out the colors of the show are Todd Giebenhain who never had a straight line in the 77 episodes and always made me laugh anytime he spoke. All characters (Even if not mentioned here) had there own quirky presents that made the show one of the best written and well casted shows I've had the pleasure to watch. I especially have to hand it to Cloris Leachman. Who humor and wit has been keeping people laughing for decades.
Clarkdale45 If there was a rating level more than 10 then i would sure love to give it the maximum no matter what. This show far exceeded my expectations. Decent story with single guy raising his daughter, that was all i knew when i saw its description. The thing i was amazed by in the entire show was the two main characters, Garret and Martha for their role of Burt and Virginia. I have to say these two are the most realistic couple i have ever sever seen. Anyway all the characters were amazing specially Maw Maw and the cute Hope. But everything seemed connected to the main couple (V and B chance). The way they showed every cute little detail is far more better than anything i have ever seen. There was not a single episode where i didn't laughed. The comedy in it was not stupid which i hate but more of a sense full, i mean everything they did for jimmy, there was a good reason behind it.There is not too much to say, my brain right now is full of happy memories of this show and they are so mixed up that i am unable to come up with any good explanation. If you are like me that likes movies in category like drama, family, comedy then you will 100% like this and you will thank me for recommending it.I can easily call it the best family/comedy show i have seen in 2014.10/10
Fabio_B I just discovered Raising Hope and I cannot help laughing until I cry while I watch it, noticing at what each actor does, especially the father. I see a lot of care for the details, and it's sometime very difficult to follow all what is happening on the screen because each of the actor is busy doing something hilarious. It is really a good thing that I watch it alone (I work abroad) as my wife would kill me while I continuously stop and rewind to re-watch some scenes! I hope that Raising Hope will have long life, as we really need something to let us disconnect from the real life and the miseries / killing / blood sucking themes offered by many TV channels, and we can finally have big fat laughs. Highly recommended TV show!
