Arianna Moses Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

fredmelden-1 The main characters have a smidgen of depth; the rest are cardboard cutouts. The situations the pod addresses are occasionally realistic, but the 'sell' itself is almost always simplistic. The ease with which the clients succumb to the various 'sells' is ridiculously easy, as if the heads of large corporations don't simply make mistakes (they often do) but make stupid ones on a regular basis. And, of course, the characters all have 'issues' - daddy issues, mommy issues, inferiority issues - a pretense to cover up the shallowness of the characters. It's rather like putting on a layer of icing on a cow pie. Everyone habitually talks about sex, sex, and more sex; the "mine is bigger than yours" mentality pervades every scene, except the ones where actual sex occurs. The depicted snark and chest thumping has become a cultural infection that is today reflected in our politics (I will leave specific names unmentioned). The good life is not depicted not as one of stability and contentment, of family and community, but of fast living, fancy cars, and $1000 sushi bars, and waltzing through life one-upping the next guy.In my opinion, the depicted ideals reflect a society in decline.

gpknopp Kristin Bell. And, lots of crass, clever dialogue and "inner monologues" that are quite realistic representations of emotionally violent relationships in this medium. Hollywood swings between ultra-violence and pandering humor and soft-core. It's refreshing to see, depictions of relationships that are more real than anything I've seen. And if you don't relate, it's okay, go back and watch your baby stuff. Like empire. Or Arrow. Not everyone can be a consultant."I was squirting, Greg." Ahh, good stuff. "Fecal fingers." It gets better...

write-njt I expected something as polished and intelligent as 'Suits' when I started watching this. What a disappointment. Cheadle, while a fabulous actor, is completely miscast as a drool-worthy corporate guru. And what with murders, sex for business etc, this is a non-corporate ridiculous view of the corporate world. The content doesn't make any sense at all. It's like something created for cheap entertainment. The clothes are also too cheap for the senior consultants they're trying to show. The matching tie and pocket square sets for Cheadle, the constant repetition of accessories and clothes for Bell... sex to solve every problem... cheap silly show.

Louis Gerard House Of Lies is a fun, refreshing, TV series. I started watching the 2nd season and had to catch up by buying the first season. The writing is smart, silly, serious and comedic and the actors do a really great job, really good casting. Shotime seems to have the best T.V. Shows on premium cable television in my opinion and House Of Lies is definitely one of them. I'm looking forward to watching the 3rd season and seeing what fun drama Marty Kann and his team get themselves into and how they talk themselves out it and still seal the deal LOL. The House Of Lies casting directors made a really good move when they brought Nia Long's sexy self into the show. I love how Marty, Monica and the rest of their family and friends love and respect their son Roscoe's life choice even though they may not agree with it. Over all House Of Lies is a smart well written and acted TV show.
