SoTrumpBelieve Must See Movie...
Moustroll Good movie but grossly overrated
FirstWitch A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Billy Ollie Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
gurgitoy2 I actually do remember watching this first run. I forget what network, but maybe NBC or ABC. It was on Saturday mornings at first. In fact, I remember there was some promotion for the show before it aired, which got me interested. So, I have not seen this show since it's original broadcast, but I do remember it pretty well. Foofur, the main character was a big, blue hound dog. Maybe a bloodhound? Anyway, he had a deep voice that sounded kind of like Bing Crosby, or a stoned Huckleberry Hound. He was very laid back...kind of the stabilizer for all the other crazy characters. He lived in a run down house with all of his misfit friends. Some of them had no homes, so they stayed with him. This was a pretty cute show, nothing earth shattering, but fun watching. This was one of those 80's cartoons like Kissyfur that ended up in obscurity. Maybe it will see a DVD release, but who knows?
aodugo I HAVE seen Foofur. I used to watch it a lot when I was a little kid. These are the things I remember: Foofur talked real funny. Funnier than Huckleberry Hound. Also, I'm pretty sure I remember watching this on Cartoon Express. That should say a lot about the cartoon: it wasn't good, because Hanna Barbera cartoons were never good, but you could always watch an overabundance of them every weekend on the same channel, and they were entertaining. Looking back on Foofur, I know it was awful, but that doesn't matter. Back then I was a kid, so back then it was good; the only thing really that makes it so awful is me now being an adult who can look back on it and make a judgment. So, for kids, a great, funny cartoon.
kimmy212 I never saw this air on television(NBC,1986-87) but I picked it out at the video store when I was a kid, and I fell in love with all the characters! Besides Foof I really loved Fencer the Karate Cat he was so hopeless:) I remember along with "Heathcliff" (the orange trouble making cat), "Foofur" was one of my favorite cartoons of the time. People never seem to know what I'm talking about when I mention this 80's cartoon as one of my childhood favorites, so I suppose not many kids were introduced to the series since it only aired for 2 seasons. I know I found this cartoon very entertaining at the time & am definitely interested in getting my hands on this video or a DVD if I could find one. I'd love to sit down with my niece & watch this together! (Also, I want to prove to everyone who doesn't think I know what I'm talking about that this cartoon really existed!)
wolfofmoonandsun OK, I'll be honest. I saw a preview for this on Samson and Sally when I was VERY little, thus I don't really know what its about. But nobody else seems to have even come to this board, so I'll review it. Foofur appears to be about a dog...a very ugly blue dog. He lives in a house with some equally ugly dogs. They do stuff, and since this was a children's show I assume that "stuff" involved wholesome lessons.Well, that concludes my review of Foofur. Oh yeah, and there was a very cute Chihuahua. I like Chihuahuas. Yep. Terrible show.
