Excellent but underrated film

Like everyone else I thought this will be a second Narcos but it doesn't come anywhere near it. The storyline is simple and shallow. Doesn't go further than "we kill this guy, and now we bribe this guy, now this guy is pissed off so he is killing the competition, now we buy drugs and ship them over the border, now I'm in prison so I make new friends and bribe the guards". I honestly do not understand why there are so many high rankings... Every dialog sticks to facts, there is no real story behind it. I can't blame the actors, for what it is they did there best... I tried the first season to give it a chance, season 2 I tried the first episode and then I quit watching. Not worth your time.

I was not a big fan of Narcos. At the beginning, I thought that this show was going to be another "telenovela" style, but I was wrong. Everything about this show is excellent, the writing, the production, the photography, performance and music.
Univision, Story House and Netflix have done an excellent job. You can understand why Mexico got so violent during the 2000's. I can't get enough of El Chapo.

This is a Excellent TV Show, Please Stop With The Low Ratings Finally We Have A Series Of Different Types Of Organized Cartel's Of Mexico Like Guadalajara Cartel Juárez Cartel Tijuana Cartel Sinaloa Cartel Gulf Cartel Etc Which We Read On Wikipedia/Paper Or Internet / TV News.They Have Tried There Best To Make It As Real As Possible , El Chapo Lead Has Done A Very Good Job . Actors Are Decent Enough I'm Not Saying This is The Best Television Like Breaking Bad , The Wire or The Sopranos ,, Compared To Narcos Which Concentrates More On Cocaine , But This Series Fills Lot Of Information Of How Things Work in There Cartel World. I Hope They Cover More Story Lines ,Make it As Good As Possible in Season 3

It's so hard not to compare this show with the incredibly well made and entertaining Narcos, but there no escaping that Chapo follows the same formula and style - and falls well short. The key issue is the character of El Chapo and the actor who portrays him. He comes across as one dimensional, without a flicker of character, or depth, and is hence very uninteresting to watch. El Chapo is purely a psychopathic machine that the viewer doesn't care about at all.
