Synopsis

Ted, a successful but morally conscious man, runs a research and development department at a morally questionable corporation, Veridian Technologies. No achievement is too far fetched and no invention too unorthodox for Veridian. Ted loves his seemingly perfect job; he loves his superhuman boss, Veronica, and colleagues Lem, Phil and Linda, but he's starting to take a closer look at the company's extremely questionable practices... especially when they try to cryogenically freeze one of Ted's scientists for testing purposes.

Reviews

Kailansorac Clever, believable, and super fun to watch. It totally has replay value.
Chirphymium It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
Invaderbank The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
Dana An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
frobin-jojo Better Off Ted is the best TV comedy show since Scrubs and for sure the same quality as the first 3 seasons of Big Bang Theory. Much better than the 5th season of Big Bang.I really loved Portia de Rossi as Veronica and the sarcastic and cynical portrayal of the big corporation Veridian Dynamics, a multinational corporation doing literally anything for money (even freezing his employees just because they can do it).The show has so much potential left open ... the ethical conflicts of Ted, the dilemma of Ted with Linda and Veronica and the nerd stuff that Phil and Lem could do ... so much left open ...... really a shame that shows like this get canceled!
Pourko Season One of "Better Off Ted" is the funniest show ever! Witty, original, NO stupid laugh tracks, pure genius! (10/10) Then...Season two sucks monkey balls. They probably hired a bunch of new writers who started pulling stuff out of their you-know-whats. The show became boring, and at times annoying. (2/10) I can't believe how something so good could be ruined so bad. No wonder it got canceled.Becfause of shows like this, I really wish that IMDb had separate voting for separate seasons. Casting a single vote for these two seasons doesn't make any sense to me.Now... the next annoyance... IMDb wants ten lines... So I have to keep writing... "Your review does not contain enough lines. The minimum length for reviews is 10 lines of text."So there!
chancer_kirri Unfortunately I never saw any previews or knew this great show was on for 2 seasons. I would have tuned in every week and think the casting, comedy, and the slightly exaggerated "evil company" references and the both hilarious yet truthful advertisements would have appealed to a much bigger audience than the ratings suggest.I waited to post this review until watching most episodes and asking nearly 100 coworkers their opinion of the show and learned less than 10% even knew the show was on much less 2 seasons and all but a few loved it and would have tuned in every week. Please bring this show back!
dino-141 Better of Ted is a pleasant surprise. Finally a sitcom that does not feature a set of singles living in the city or a moronic family. It is fresh, witty and fast. Many American sitcoms are very predictable which for me really kills the laughs. I really don't understand why this show didn't become a bigger success because it had all the ingredients to appeal to a large audience: An excellent cast, fresh jokes, hot babes for the men and a handsome male lead for the ladies. Jay Harrington is often compared with George Clooney. I don't know if there really is a resemblance, one thing he does have in common with Clooney though: Despite his good looks, guys don't hate his guts. Andrea Anders is sweet and funny as always, Portia de Rossi walks a very fine line between portraying the heartlessness and coldness of mega corporations and just being a caricature. Her extreme screen presence even makes the character a little likable. What makes this show really stand out is the smartness of the scripts, the tong-in-cheek satire.
