bmtauto This animated series had it all: the best writers, voice actors, and animation team.
aaronjamesmaximus This is the best Batman show ever made,If you haven't watched it you should it made Batman dark and cool again instead of campy and stupid like he portrayed in the 60's by Adam West. Here we get the truly spectacular voice acting talents of Kevin Conroy and Mark Hammil who really made the best voices for Batman and The Joker, respectively. It made Mr. Freeze a three dimensional villain by giving him a tragic backstory and received several awards the Mr. Freeze episode being one of the great episodes that got the show an Emmy. The show also created Harley Quinn who is now a fan favorite and fleshed several other lesser known Batman villains. Bottom line if you heaven't watched it need to, nuff said...
Mr-Fusion "Batman: The Animated Series" made its indelible mark on me when I was a kid and it's no secret why this show's still my favorite interpretation of the Dark Knight. You can look at an episode like 'Heart of Ice' or 'Almost Got 'im' and immediately get what this series is about: pathos, but also a playful spin on the rogues gallery (which is extensive); it spends some time on Bruce's inner torment but also has plenty to offer fans of all ages. And just look at the laundry list of character actors they got for these roles. Feels like I'm always hearing someone new even after watching this show for more than twenty years. And there's a reason why Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill still appear in modern movies and video games (as Batman and The Joker, respectively): they're ideal. The proof is right there. And this is the show that introduced Harley Quinn, a character so good DC assimilated her into comics continuity.Like any show, it's not without its clunkers ('Christmas with the Joker', anyone?), but this is a brilliant TV show, with one foot in noir aesthetics and the other in old Hollywood entertainment (you can frame and wall-mount any of those title cards). It is exemplary.10/10
Johnny H. Batman: The Animated Series (T.A.S.) was, still is, and always will be cited as one of, if not the finest superhero TV show that ever was, animated or not. The storytelling is perfect, the way Batman/Bruce Wayne is depicted has no faults at all, and it is the literal incarnate as to how comic adaptations should look and aspire to be: a piece of serialized artwork that perfectly captures its source of inspiration while at the same time being its own thing and inventing a completely new and fresh take on a decades old character who has become as iconic as Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes.Batman: T.A.S. is still an entertaining and fast-paced adventure through animation cells and traditional superhero fun that we've all come to know and love, especially from a character such as The Dark Knight. This show is a timeless classic that has influenced basically all the adaptations of Batman, cinematic or otherwise, after its 1992 television debut. Batman: T.A.S. is the defining superhero television show and is truly a platinum gem in the history of television.
