Hellen I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much
Huievest Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
Erica Derrick By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
Bob This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
jennyp-00739 Kept seeing previews of this show while I watched something mindless like Real Housewives or similar. Finally put it on and didn't realize it was a whole season in. Currently binge watching and am almost through the first one....This show is amazing. I saw it listed as comedy, which it's not in the conventional sense. More of a spot on social commentary. Like a wink and nod to real situations. Most shows have a learning curve where the actors take a few episodes of getting into character. Pilots are normally awful. Not the case with this one. Everyone is so natural where you believe it from the get go. It just keeps getting better with each episode. The rating on the tv says MA on every episodes, but I have yet to see anything super offensive compared to half the stuff on tv.
javierstransky It's a Comedy-Drama very unusual because, you think that it's going to show you the gueto with all the gangs issues and all the classic 50 cent though guys fighting each other and the protagonist trying to survive the poorness and other family-friends problems. Well, it's like the upside-down of that haha, you can see a very irrevent parody of that reality with some little touches of drama behind. It's an unusual comedy, and it worth it. I'm waiting for the Second season pretty excited.
mlarimore Loved this series. So good, the only bad thing I can say about it is, I will have a hard time finding the next series to binge on that can even hold a candle to it.I'm not going to go into a bunch of analytical BS about the plot or the characters. I don't give a F about that S. If you are like me and look for a series that will actually mean something, then you're not going to be disappointed.Great work to all involved with the making of Atlanta.
screechy_jim It started off brilliantly and I really enjoyed the first 3 episodes though they are a little short for my liking. The stories don't really get fleshed out enough in thirty minutes can sometimes be a little thin, but I suspect there are parameters the producers have to work with and it's not to bad. Subsequent episodes really are diminishing in appeal and the brilliant creativity is gradually being replaced with a quirky framework that simply doesn't work as well. I think the initial premise for the show was very good but now that all the preconceived material has been used up, the producers are scratching around for ideas. Overall the production quality is quite good, but the story is beginning to get a little threadbare. There are some very competent actors here and do well with the script which for the most part is OK. Direction is great but again the writing needs attention. One of the main problems with the series, particularly after you've recovered from the high of the first few episodes is there is very little character or story development. Your then presented with a very static story which isn't quite as engaging and worse, sort of lets you down badly from the roller-coaster ride you were having. Its definitely not your typical 'black' sitcom/comedy/drama (I'm not really sure what category this falls under) but there is certainly a lot of cursing, swearing and black American slang to the point where I need subtitles to follow the dialogue properly, which is saying something. There is a lot of mumbling groaning and uttering going on and unless your fluent in such feature-rich vernacular, you will at the very least need the sound turned up so you can pick it all out.Eight episodes in and I think I've had my fill, but I would still advise seeing it as it is entertaining and may suit your tastes, though it just as likely may not. This is a weird one as I'm not entirely sure who its prime audience is. Clearly it has appeal for the black American community but in some ways it seems to have an different target in mind additionally. Can't quite make it out. Anyway at the very least it deserves a shot, so give it one and make up your own mind as this one is a little difficult to finger.I liked it but have had enough to move on to something else without missing what I've left behind here.
