arminbilefield I can't believe i'm only finding out about this show after there are already 3 seasons. It's literally in the Michael Scott sense of humor circle, it's so ridiculously funny, very similar to the works of David Wain, like Wet Hot American Summer, obviously wouldn't expect less from Steve Carell. I laugh my ass of in every episode. The scream in the first credits is just everything. And one of the best things about this show is the guest stars. Bill Murray is in episode 7. This show definitely deserves to be seen more, it is absolutely funny, entertaining and well made. These days good comedies are just really rare, both in cinema and tv. But this one delivers, of course you have to like it's postmodern sense of humor. If you're hesitant about it, watch Wet Hot American Summer 2001 or The Came Together 2014 by David Wain, and see if you liked those give this one a watch to laugh maybe twice as much. because the sense of humor is completely alike, but i like this one better. I became a fan just 4 episodes in and recommend it to people with ridiculous and weird sense of humor. I'm gonna go back to laughing my ass off... P.S: The one point i cut from this was because they stopped doing that first credits scream after season 1. That was like one of the funniest things about this show. I love them so much that i might edit them back in myself just so that i could enjoy it as i want.
nicktoon_82 It isn't that funny at all and it tries way to hard to be goofy. Even Airplane, Naked Gun and Spaceballs had it's serious moments. Not every moment needs to be some kind of slapstick goofy moment with some improbable action or speech. It is trying to out do the classic goofball comedies and failing. Also the goofball moments are too far out there and appear to be written by children. I am serious and don't call me Shirly is classic. Sneezing your eyes out of their socket is trying to hard for laughs with minimal effort. This show has so much potential but fails at it's attempts at humor. The show might as well be filled with fart jokes.
Charles Herold (cherold) In 1982, the folks behind Airplane! made a TV series, Police Squad!, that was every bit as funny but decidedly less successful. It was canceled after only 6 episodes, and while it inspired the Naked Gun movies, I've always been sad that the series itself didn't have a second season.Enter Angie Tribeca, the spiritual successor to Police Squad! Once again, it's a cop parody that fires a constant blast of wildly silly jokes at the audience. It is wildly funny and surprisingly consistent, just like Police Squad! Some people here are complaining it's *too* much like Police Squad! I don't understand that criticism. There was very little Police Squad! to enjoy, and so yes, it's the same sort of jokes, the same sensibility, the same utter silliness, the same jokes on stereotypes that then become jokes on the jokes on the jokes. If you don't want more Police Squad! that's your business. I wanted more, I got more, and I couldn't be happier.
Dave Churry To be honest, I've only seen half an episode of Angie to date. But, I've seen enough to know it's at least a direct "rip-off" of Police Squad's sideways, literal humour...and I loved it - I cant wait to see more. Consequently, I do not draw a comparison to "Sledge Hammer" - a show I despised at the time and may watch again someday to understand (or confirm) why I didn't like it (surely, there's a reason for the lack of a Sledge Hammer movie franchise). Anyway, this melange of "cerebral, humour-outside-of-the-box" type of cheap sight gags and double-meaning dialogue is, I'm sure, a far better waste of one's time than ANY of these laughable "reality" shows. If I get my DVR set right, I'll binge watch Angie. I'm sure there'll be something to see here. Oh, and Al, there's something on the side of your face...no, the other side.
