Limerculer A waste of 90 minutes of my life
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Scarlet The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Ian (Flash Review)If you like or appreciate various types of art and design, this is a must see. This documentary highlights a top tier creative of their specialized disciplines with an episode for each. Such as the person who was responsible for designing the Nike Jordan shoe line, Paula Scher a world-renowned graphic designer as well as other disciplines such as automotive design, theatre stage design, illustration, architecture, photography and interior design. Each episode dives into how each person got their start, what inspires them, how they actually create their work, highlights noteworthy projects and each one is engaging with a slew of great visuals. On top of that, great thought was put into the production value with fun transitions, clever editing and each one accentuates the designer skills. Top notch effort.
Ersbel Oraph The quality is mediocre. The story telling is the vulgar myth building and even if it is a very usual way of telling stories, the creators do not excel at it.Overall it's trivia plus misunderstandings from people with limited education. Take the second episode. One man qualified in making pretty drawings and very qualified shoe makers do some shoes. They are pretty. They are comfortable. That is undeniable. But step any way further away and one steps into superstitious crap. There are no doctors in the team, no physicists, no biologists. Because the performance increase comes from the comfort and not from any performance babble. And just because a famous ball player wore these shoes and got paid a huge amount of money, that does not mean Regular Joe won't sprain an ankle in the exact same pretty shoe. The ball player might have an excellent game bare footed, because he is the blonde with big boobs using a power drill in the advert.Short: nice to hear those people talk, even if they have no idea what they are talking about.Contact me with Questions, Comments or Suggestions ryitfork @ bitmail.ch
hibajaroudi I have been waiting for something like this for so long!!! This is absolutely a great documentary, great content and great people. I watched episodes multiple times while working on my art as I felt that they are talking my language and sharing my thoughts.I want to thank the whole team for this documentary and all the artists for sharing info with full transparency with the world. You made me love my work even more! Thank you " Abstract " team. Design is for everyone. CAN'T WAIT for the new season!hj
Rick Bakas The episode featuring Tinker Hatfield of NIKE was great because Tinker is a living legend. His contributions to design innovation over his illustrious career have left a strong legacy. However, in the episode about all his innovations I have to correct the part about him designing the University of Oregon brand. When the branding was created in 1998 Tinker wasn't involved in the process, he took over the brand a few years after it was created and elevated it to where it is today. The original brand was created by myself and a designer named Michael Scheible. Neither one of us were given much credit and the time or in the years since. That's not how NIKE operates. It's never about the individual, it's about the team.If you want to know the real story about how the U of O brand was created you can read my post that shows various stages of the development process: http://bit.ly/29F7SQcIt's disappointing a show like Abstract, which is meant to celebrate great artists, can't give credit to the artists who did the work.Other than that, it's a great show that features some incredible people.
