Synopsis

Cousins, Bo and Luke Duke, with the help of their eye-catching cousin, Daisy and moonshine-running Uncle Jesse, try and save the family farm from being destroyed by Hazzard County's corrupt commissioner, Boss Hogg. Their efforts constantly find the 'Duke Boys' eluding authorities in 'The General Lee', their 1969 orange Dodge Charger that keeps them one step ahead of the dimwitted antics of the small southern town's Sheriff, Roscoe P. Reviews

Humaira Grant It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
Verity Robins Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.
Mandeep Tyson The acting in this movie is really good.
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
maartendeveirman After this movie i am always happy and relaxed! Jessica Simpson show how beautiful she is. The movie has a good sense of humor too. Maybe not for everyone but for me, i forget all the bad things in life during this movie. As i wrote earlier i am always happy and relaxed after seeing this movie. And that is very important in life!
UofSciFi Not as bad as everyone says this movie is.************************************************The first thing I notice when I read all of the negative comments about this movie, the writer always points out that he or she was a HUGE fan of the show way back when.........One of the things You have to remember is that absence makes the heart grow fonder.......and with the Dukes of Hazzard TV Show being off of the air since the mid '80's ...these people have watched reruns over and over and these probably undoubtedly remember the TV show as being far better than it actually was(or at least in their minds anyway). ******************************************************************** *I liked the Dukes of Hazzard movie. I liked the sex jokes (I was slightly disappointed that there was no serious nudity shown in the film). I thought the drug humor was indeed funny (not enough of it)BUT! ! ! ! having said that......... I also believe they could have made this same movie and not have used the "Dukes of Hazzard" name, likeness or characters .... Because I also understand that "Dukes of Hazzard" has a lot of appeal to children(mainly boys between ages 10 and 14) , and to use the Dukes of Hazzard as a show case for "Sex, Drugs, & Rock'N Roll" really isn't the message we should be giving our youths. Showing the Duke boys smoking weed and getting laid probably wasn't the right thing to do..............although I really did like this movie and thought it was very funny, I still think that they should've made this movie with it's own identify. Because this same movie could've been made without the Dukes of Hazzard name on it, and it would have been just as good.
grg-55098 There is room for improvement in this movie; don't read the one star reviews who are angry because its not the original TV show and have convinced themselves that Daisy Duke was never sexualized in the original and Bo and Luke were never chasing pussy. Because she was and they were. In this new flick the Duke family is still fighting the system. Bo Duke is made out to be clueless about the world. I didn't particularly like Burt Reynolds as a thin Boss Hogg. Rosco is a huge dude and Willie Nelson is OK. Jessica Simpson's performance is good in spite of all the hate for her being cast as Daisy. The bottom line is it's a decent flick worth a watch for fans who don't mind the generational gap.
ogaly123 This is one of the better comedies out there. Better than many of those cliché franchise, this is actually quite Original. It isn't just some body put a compost of weed smoking bears to make it funny, it actually has some real nice comedy, character development, and contrast. This movie isn't trying to be anything either. Yes it does play with stereotypes and things, but that's what makes it funny! And it ain't funny like stupid funny. I thought I'd turn it off but the action and suspense kept driving me to watch it till the end. The humour is actually intelligent, and has nothing to do with all those drug/alcohol driven humour you get in others. The way it is portrayed is also original, I haven't seen a movie like this in a while, in a narrative style, with a developed plot behind it. They pull it off.
