Reviews

Cubussoli Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
Lawbolisted Powerful
Nessieldwi Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.
MusicChat It's complicated... I really like the directing, acting and writing but, there are issues with the way it's shot that I just can't deny. As much as I love the storytelling and the fantastic performance but, there are also certain scenes that didn't need to exist.
syedali-65426 Bring a big fan of Harry Potter Series, this movie was very bad in context of story, acting, music etc
eugeniopec I do not like fan movies. In fact, movies with poor stories/acting/filming do annoy me.But i am a fan, and i love Star Trek, Lord of the Rings and, more on the books side, Harry Potter (not only, mind you).Concerning fan made movies, i would like to relate a personal experience. If you propose yourself to watch a non professionally made production, the main thing you would have to do is to put yourself in an emotionally compatible state. You are going to see what amateurs writers, amateurs actors, amateurs cinematographers produced. Put yourself in their shoes and imagine how much fun they had scripting/portraing/filming their beloved characters. I find meself thinking "i want a little more" in this cases.I managed to do so. And, in doing it, enjoyed meself immensely watching some of the most entertaining productions fandom have produced. I find it fair to mention them here (supposing someone will eventually read this). The hunt for GollumThey have a site. As a great fan of the books, i know the impossibility of making a film that will satisfy me. That said, i loved the Bakshi animation and had to accept, despite my many observations, the Jackson film. This fan production is far beyond anything i would expect from amateurs, and, of course, reading more about the people that made it, they are, in fact, fans - and professionals.Born of HopeBeautiful story and acting, directed by a woman and that carries this special feminine sensibility. (Look for the site)Star TrekAfter the unfortunate recent foray to restart a new ST series, if you are a fan, do not despair! Try (in the mindset i sugested) Aurora, an animated story that i loved, and the exceptional Star Trek Continues. So, in watching the HP fan made movie, i have only one thing to say: "grazie mille, i miei amici italiani per aver reso il mio pomeriggio molto più divertente di quanto sarebbe stato senza il tuo brillante lavoro!" (sorry, google translation...)I really wonder if anyone read this things.Best regards!
RaccoonRocky I'm a Potterhead myself, one of those who wrote in newsgroups (when newsgrups did still exist) trying to figure out with other fans what the next book could be (in the era of BOOKS, not movies yet). Said that, I've also seen the movies. All of them. A comparison with this one would be highly unfair, as the "official" movies are professional products. This one should be, in my humble opinion, seen like a fan story. But despite its short lenght (less than an hour) and the poorness of the sets (all the movie is filmed inside), I saw this Voldemort: Origins of the Heir with pleasure. I gave 8 to this movie. Yes, actors are dubbed but revoicers are English speakers (their names can be read in credits) and no one would have liked someone talking English with Italian accent. So this is a plus, not a con. Yes, there are characters not canonic, but this is for the sake of the plot. Costumes are great. Lights are good. Directing might not be so great, but good enough. To sum it up, my opinion is highly positive.
jennamcdonnell Forget the poor acting and dialogue, I get that it was a budget film. What I don't get is that they say it was made by 'Fans' but I felt as though they had never even read the books.I understand that fan fiction branches out from the original works however I felt they made major changes that in essence would make the works of JK Rowling not make sense. Such as the flash back where Merope (I assume) is cradling a baby Tom Riddle whilst playing with the necklace......? Or the fact that in the original books, there was such heavy emphasis on the fact that Tom Riddle didn't have any friends, only followers, yet hes chilling out in the room of requirement with some kids? The whole plot revolved around the heirs searching for the heirlooms, well any worthy gryffindor would know that the sword would present itself to them if them were in need! This is just a few of the major plot holes, I feel as though they completely wasted their time and there is no excuse for a bad plot. Voldemort was born bad, peeps need to get over it!
