StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
Portia Hilton Blistering performances.
Matho The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.
Josephina Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.
tbills2 View from the Top is my favorite kind of movie. It's just the truth. As much as I love epic fantasy adventures like LOTR or Star Wars, and I do, I love an ultrahot lighthearted comedy like View from the Top way more (ultrahot being the key word). But there's a stipulation - it can't show too much nudity. It must be playful and teasing. If it shows too much skin it enters a realm of I'm not always in the right mood for it. I'm always in the mood to enjoy movies like View from the Top, or The Sweetest Thing, or The House Bunny, or We're the Millers, or Good Luck Chuck, or Be Cool, or Just Go With It, or Austin Powers 1, 2 & 3 (shout out to how funny Mike Myers is in this), or Sex Tape, or I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, or Booty Call, or the 2 Charlie's Angels' movies (which are like hot fluffy masterpieces with their infused adrenaline pumping action). I love those. American Pie is a good example of an ultrahot lighthearted comedy that shows too much skin (shout out to Shannon Elizabeth, OMG) where I'm not always in the right mood for it. Close, but Road Trip too (shout out to Amy Smart) because it just comes on a little too strong. Those aren't quite my favorite. Fast Times at Ridgemont High too but that's almost like a drama. I love the flirt. It's all about the sweet flirt. It's all about the very most beautiful women in bikinis and panties. Christina Applegate has a knack for starring in these movies with this and The Sweetest Thing. I love Christina. She's so, so cute. I love Kelly Preston too. Gwyneth Paltrow (shout out to C Berg). The girls look so good in View from the Top, OMGoodness. They are definitely all wearing really hot outfits and everything but the Gwyneth, Christina, Kelly threeway bikini scene (shout out to M Ruffalo) is what skyrockets View from the Top into ultrahotness and ultimate watchability. I think that covers it. I love Gwyneth I really do. She's so nice (super shout out to B Danner!). hahahaYou put the wrong em-PHA-sis on the wrong syl-LA-ble.
jessegehrig Plot-less. Would have been better as just straight up pornography. Just get them people to f*cking, cut out the middle man. A movie made of ghosts, one haunting after the next and all that is gained is a numb spiritual emptiness. Gwyneth Paltrow is a pretty lady, I understand, but does she really need a whole movie to herself? What story is she gonna tell me? A pretty lady struggles, a pretty lady perseveres, a pretty lady achieves? Is that really a story? If there is a love story in this, you know it's gonna work out well in the end? Don't you know that? Please tell me you know that. If this movie was a forest, I would burn it down, down to the ground.
gamay9 I have flown most of the world and have come to the conclusion that almost all cities are forgettable, including Paris. The city I have flown to most is New York; nothing special. I have been to Cleveland about a dozen times and always had a good experience while not working. I spent most of my time in the suburbs, like Shaker Heights, when it was a classy area. There is nothing wrong with Cleveland. If the producers had used Milwaukee (my hometown) to demean, a charming city that has retained its' character, I would have burned down the studio which made the film.As for Gywneth, she is cute, but not a high quality actress. Mike Myers was good as well as Candice Bergen. The movie, however, was bland and predictable. The ending was stupid, showing Donna (Gywneth Paltrow) as a pilot. It must be nice having a famous father to enhance nepotism. In Les Halles (Paris prostitution area) a pigeon dumped on my head while my friend was in a house paying for sex. That's my most vivid memory of Paris. I'll take Berlin or Madrid over Paris. Actually, my hometown is my favorite city and, unless you are born in a tiny berg, most people feel the same as I.The film is forgettable, at best. And, stop using Cleveland and Newark as the 'pits.' I can think of much more deserving cities (Minneapolis - Plasticville, no charm, Houston, New Orleans (slums), Seattle, where is rains constantly and Phoenix, with a super high crime rate and hedonistic residents). Then, add Chicago, minus the suburbs, which are very livable.
Neil Welch View From The Top tells the story of Donna (Gwyneth Paltrow) who sees air-hostessing as a means of leaving her hick small town and seeing the world: on the way, she discovers some home truths. This strange little film is a romantic comedy without much romance or comedy (apart from Mike Myers doing one of his less amusing schticks). It is a small film with a strong cast (a distinct cut above the material), lots of bright colours, lots of attractive women in short skirts, bikinis and bare midriffs, and an air of niceness to it.It doesn't make you laugh, although it does make you smile. It's quite nicely performed (particularly by Christina Applegate and Candice Bergen), but it leaves you with an air of, "Oh. So what?" The strongest recommendation I can give it is to say that it's not unpleasant.
