Synopsis

Inside a darkened house looms a column of TVs littered with VHS tapes, a pagan shrine to forgotten analog gods. The screens crackle and pop endlessly with monochrome vistas of static white noise permeating the brain and fogging concentration. But you must fight the urge to relax: this is no mere movie night. Those obsolete spools contain more than just magnetic tape. They are imprinted with the very soul of evil.

Kaydan Christian A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
Lucia Ayala It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.
Fatma Suarez The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
Nicole I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
marceluiz First of all, I'm a big fan of these kind of "found footage" movies. I think the first V/H/S was better at not having the amount of cliches that this one has. The first tape had some terrible actors - man, I think I may act better than them. The second tape was a interesting take on the zombie stuff that had its peak at 2012~2013. Third tape, for me, was the best one, really interesting and intriguing story. The last one was the standard ET stuff.I liked the out of tapes story as well - better than the V/H/S 1 one. 6.5/10
Michael Radny There is really nothing to be excited about in V/H/S/2. I had heard mixed reviews on it, and whilst the found footage concept is clichéd at this point, I thought I'd give it a go and hopefully see a glimpse of hope. This was not to be. Besides being long and boring, this film just wasn't scary nor was it interesting. The initial videos seem to set the slow pace for the rest of the film, and whilst there are times where you think something fun will happen, it just fails to be executed.V/H/S/2 is nothing more then an expected disappointment. There is nothing fun, interesting, scary or enjoyable that comes out of this found footage montage, which is a shame. Truly a bad Hollywood cash grabber.
Bezenby This film is quite frustrating as it has as many low points as high points. I love anthology movies, and this is my first 'found footage' one, but I have to admit I'm kind of left cold by this one as, well, there's too many questions raised and, basically, some of the stories are totally crap.Best to go through segment by segment: Wraparound - Not bad as two PIs track down the son of somebody or other. Logic thrown out of the window as I can't understand why someone would transfer all this digital media onto video tape. Plus the guy's assistant is dead so he decides to watch a video? The fake eyeball one: Generic J-Horror style one that barely makes sense at all. I'm still trying to understand why the girl knew that he could see the dead when she could hear them. Or something. The zombie one. Nice premise. In fact, this one isn't too bad (from the Hobo with a Shotgun guys, which is a film you should watch). Not much of a story, but still. The Cult One. Yet again, this one is high on gore and horror (it's like a Jonestown thing with much more sinister tones)...but logic is also thrown out the window. I mean, if all this crap happened, who snuck back into the compound and gathered together every camera used and then edited it all together (then put it on VHS for no reason)? It's things like this that sink this film. The alien abduction one. I've just described this one. That's it.Anthology films are hard to do. It must be harder to do them 'found footage' style but at least two of the films here seem to involve the apocalypse which makes you wonder how these films ended up on VHS in some guy's house. That sequence barely makes sense at all by the way.Yet again, another film you may or may not like based on who you are. I was kind of indifferent about it.
svartamoln First of all I want to say that unlike the first movie whose cameras moved a lot, this one is not that annoying due to there was a better job filming the tapes, not like a professional but like a good amateur. Said this I want to add that the whole idea is quite interesting and realistic at times knowing it is just a movie (found-footage films are always a good way to make you think you are inside the movie). If the previous one was good, this was just great and I got scared a lot. It's not very common that a second part of a movie is better then the first but you've got this. The first tape was the tape I least liked but it was good after all, must admit I got scared a little despite the fact I don't like ghost very much, besides there were certain things that didn't have any sense but it got its purpose which is to make me scared. The second tape was interesting but didn't scare me and I doubt that zombies can do so, but it was good to see a zombie attack by the perspective of the same zombie. After the first two tapes things get better, the third tape was really but really great, original, bloody, insane, disturbing and all you can imagine. I really enjoyed watching this tape and it is probably better than any other tape showing in the first V/H/S, in fact it could have had its own movie because the idea was fantastic. And finally the fourth tape, the most disturbing, annoying (in a good way) and scariest of all. I'm sure you won't agree with me, but I must confess that any kind of extraterrestrial being scares the hell out of me. I never imagined this tape was about aliens, actually when I realized so I had to turn the lights on because I was very scared. This tape was funny at first and that relaxed me a lot but after a few minutes things got worse, the aliens were very aggressive and didn't seem to be super smart and that's disturbing and reminded me a story I heard once on a Spanish TV show, this tape definitely got its purpose because I was terrified watching this part of the movie.I'm glad after the result, a good movie and I hope I can sleep well tonight, I totally recommend this movie.
