MamaGravity good back-story, and good acting
Abbigail Bush what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Calum Hutton It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...
Yazmin Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
Osmiumos The plot concept is excellent, casting of Rea and Dance is inspired. However the script seems to have evolved around Speedman's exclusion, and the workarounds to disguise his absence actually draw attention to it. Unfortunately, the CGI has become intrusive in this third installment. Having watched a "making of" documentary for the second installment, in which the producers and film makers detailed the lengths they went to to minimise CGI and to maintain authenticity, the reliance on CGI is disappointing. However the CGI is poorly executed and intrusive on numerous occasions to the detriment of the story. I understand the compulsion for action sequences, but these should complement and advance the story. The character of Eve is underdeveloped and her fight scenes are absurd. The imbalance is laughable, as are the efforts to appeal to a younger audience. Theo, Theo, I guess it offered plenty of screen time... but your rebellious teen dialogue... at some point you need to move on from this cliché. Having worked the story around Speedman's absence, somehow they have decided to keep him alive and the continuation of this saga now rests on his availability for the next installment. Fingers crossed.
Reservoir Dogs Michael is not in this movie !!! Yes i am very happy that this actor is not anymore here, i mean seriously what a painful guy! This Michael is supposed to have a lot of powers by being hybrid, may be the most powerful immortal, and he just meow like a cat in all the franchise, never want to drink blood to get stronger or whatever vampire or lycan do to be at the top, always helped by Selene which without her, he will not stand one single battle with all the powers he supposed to have, what a joke this guy is. So he is not in this movie (just frozen in a box without acting at all) and it is a very good thing ... finally !!The story is not the best of the franchise, but it's OK, so they got a daughter in vitro, the characters are not well developed, which let us a bit hungry to know more about them, specially the cop and the super werewolf. Over all it is nice to watch one time, and that's all.
alex-csongi I liked the previous movie in the franchise because they focused on the war between the Vampires and the Werewolves / Lycans and with every new entry in the series they uncovered new pieces of the past and at the same time they moved forward in the storyline. This time the movie goes in a completely different direction and tells us that humans found out the Vampires and Lycans exist and they seek to kill all mutants. This could have been a good direction if they would have chosen to use this as a tool to show any progress in the story and not as the story of the movie as a whole. The story is very generic, Selene escapes from a place she was held in, kills Lycans , end of movie. That's it, the only thing the movies does it's that it hints us what's going to happen in the sequel. I see this as a missed opportunity, they could have showed us the Vampires uniting with the Lycans against humans or show us Vampires and Lycans fighting for their rights or anything else but instead, they have shown use how Selene kills MORE Lycans.
jfrankbad i thought this movie was a little closer in tone to the original, even if nowhere near that greatthe fast paced action and conspiracy on top of conspiracy was a lot closer to the original than the other sequelsalthough not a cinematic masterpiece, I enjoyed this more than any of the other sequels/prequelsi watched this movie at home and not at the theater, so maybe the so called CGI problems were not as problematic herenot sure what people were expecting, but i thought this was a good outing in generalwhile not a landmark of movie 3D, i thought it did make it more atmospheric and added depth in some casesI wish i had seen at the cinema TBH :precommended :-)
