GazerRise Fantastic!
Portia Hilton Blistering performances.
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Cristal The movie really just wants to entertain people.
bensonmum2 There's so much I could write about Transformers: Dark of the Moon that I'm not sure where to begin. I think I'll start with my one word review - wretched. It's one truly wretched movie. I'm not sure how you spend almost $200 million and make something this bad, but Michael Bay found a way. I usually begin one of these with a plot summary, but with Transformers: Dark of the Moon, I don't see any point. The plot here doesn't really matter. The plot is pointless. It's all about big explosions. And if there's one thing Michael Bay can do, it's make a movie with big explosions. The problem is that without a story I cared 2 cents about, the big explosions get pretty boring pretty fast. At 2 hours 34 minutes and with no interesting story, this thing is like running a marathon in mud. It takes forever. By the time the film's big finale rolled around, I was done. I couldn't take anymore. What a bore! But to be fair, I went back and watched the last part about three times because I kept falling asleep. You would think that any movie that ends with giant robots doing battle would have an ending that would hold your interest. That's not the case here. And if you're going to begin your movie on the moon, why not end it on the moon? We've seen Transformers battle on Earth before, so why not take the final battle back to where it all began? What a missed opportunity. And does Michael Bay believe in editing. There's so much fat here that could have easily been cut out. For example, ss I said when writing about #2, why are Sam's parents even in the film? They add nothing but minutes to the runtime. That's just one example of the many I could cite. And I realize I'm starting to ramble, so I better stop here. I could go on and on about the poor CGI, the bad inside jokes, and the embarrassing treatment of Leonard Nimoy's legacy, but I won't . I don't want to overstay my welcome like Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
lmcressia I wanted to wait to write a review for this until after I saw Age of Extinction because I thought perhaps my dislike of this film was based on improper expectations rather than the film itself. Well, Age of Extinction was pretty good... Dark of the Moon was not. There is a lot of action and a lot of transforming robots, so if you are just in it for that you should be fine to watch it. If you expect a decent story or to be "pulled into" the movie, well that won't happen. Honestly this movie was dull. You don't need to see this movie to follow Age of Extinction, I would have to recommend skipping this one.
swilliky The third installment of the transforming robot series continues to alter history, this time focusing on the moon landing. Michael Bay continues to bring spectacle with space battles and wild robot fights. Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) seeks out employment while living off of a new girlfriend Carly (Rosie Huntington-Whitley) in Washington DC. His mom Judy (Julie White) and dad Ron (Kevin Dunn) are traveling across the country in a trailer. Bumblebee and other Autobots work with Lennox (Josh Duhamel) to stop human conflicts. In Chernobyl, Optimus Prime and his team encounter a giant snake transformer, Shockwave and find an engine part from an old Autobot ship.Sam goes to job interviews until he is hired by Bruce Brazos (John Malkovich) though it is disappointing for Sam to be working in the mailroom after saving the world twice. Supervising the Autobots is Director of National Intelligence Charlotte Mearing (Frances McDormand). Carly works for a curator Dylan (Patrick Dempsey) who flirts with her making Sam jealous. Optimus seeks out Sentinel Prime buried on the moon. Megatron hides out in Africa ordering the assassination of anyone involved in the Decepticons new plot. A coworker Jerry (Ken Jeong) watches Sam and warns him but it's too late as Jerry is thrown out the window by Soundwave's bird spy.Check out more of this review and others at swilliky.com
Ali Syed I'm not the sort of person who enjoys mindless action, for example I wasn't a fan of the 4th movie, but I sure can appreciate a good action movie when I see one. This movie was fantastic, great acting from certain actors, fantastic soundtrack, absolutely world class cgi and a notable storyline. Sometimes you get those movies that make you feel something and I can tell you that when the movie ended after Optimus Prime's monologue and the music kicked in, I was just sitting there with a huge dumb smile on my face. However as a review, I will have to give some negative feedback as all movies do have their weak points.Rosie Huntington Whitley's role should have gone to someone with more acting experience as, for example, some of her acting killed the tension of certain moments. They belittled some Transformers by killing them off in ways which made my inner nerd angry, e.g. Starscream, Shockwave, Soundwave and Wheeljack. Wheeljack really was shown incorrectly in the movie, more as a bumbling scientist who begged for his life than a badass. Shockwave should have really had more of a prominent role, or they should have held off using such a big character until maybe another movie e.g. Bumblebee's reported spin off movie. The plot line after really thinking about it is quite bad - the transformers wanted to teleport their home planet to earth so that humans can rebuild it? Was a bit weak. Regardless, don't let these criticisms blind you from the truth - TF3 was the best TF out of all 4 that have come out as of time of writing (hopefully "The last knight (2017) will prove me wrong). It really is a fantastic movie. 8.8/10
