Hellen I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much

Deanna There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.
Philippa All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Zoooma Snooze-fest. And I was duped! I was looking for a Vietnamese film with English subtitles. Not many to be found. Came across this which was nominated for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film representing Vietnam. It previously won the Camera d'Or at Canne. Well, turns out it was filmed on a sound stage in France. Seriously?!?! I wanted Hanoi, I got Paris. In any case, it's a well-filmed art-house movie, beautiful in its aesthetics (and thinking about it retrospect, a very close-up shot film to hide the fact it's all a studio set!) Unfortunately the movie suffers terribly in more ways than it's good. I'm not sure I've ever seen a slower moving film practically about nothing. An ordinary servant girl goes to live with a family at age 10. At age 20 she's working for someone else. That's about it. Antagonist? Conflict? Tension of any kind??? Not until about the last 10 minutes. Yawn. Sort of a Cinderella ending so perhaps a bit of a chick flick. Very well acted but yawn. Agonizingly slow. (Yawn!) High rating on IMDb but for my zero pirate dollars spent, it was (at the time) my 10th Worst Movie watched in 2013.3.4 / 10 stars--Zoooma, a Kat Pirate Screener
gavin6942 A little girl, Mui (Man San Lu), goes to a house as a new servant. The mother still mourns the death of her daughter, who would have been Mui's age. In her mind, she treats Mui as her daughter. Ten years later Mui (now a young woman, played by Tran Nu Yên-Khê) is sent to another family, a young pianist and his fiancé.The plot and characters aside, this film must be praised for its beautiful colors, especially the vibrant green (making the title most appropriate). Although it failed to win best foreign film at the Oscars, attention should be played to cinematographer Benoît Delhomme. He has gone on to make great films like "1408", "Boy in the Striped Pajamas" and "Lawless". Where is his nomination? On a totally unrelated note, I also liked the boy's obsession with inappropriate urination. Humorous, to say the least.
metrobiz This is one of those films into which to just relax, almost like a warm weather hammock in French-Indochina, enjoying the sounds, the breeze, the sounds of the breeze and the creatures flying in, around, and through it. You're not going anywhere really, yet there's a sense of a pleasant journey into somewhere not quite familiar, but maybe better. This one is to be savored, perhaps with one's favorite cocktail, a companionable person, and a readiness for guided simplicity, especially in the 2nd hour. Almost every frame of every sequence is more photography than cinematography, barely moving images of a beautiful, sensate part of Asia that is associated with the opposite usually. For those with a photographer's sensibilities, this film will satisfy. Several times though, the filmmaker uses a jarring sound effect as a reminder of a world that is about to disappear. But even that sawtooth sonic waveform doesn't diminish the beauty - and even comments on the simplicity, human & natural, that seems not to be disturbed by, nor even comprehend, a sound that doesn't blend.Looking for a Hong Kong actioner, Thai erotica, or even a chick flick? This isn't it. A tone poem? Probably an overused descriptor, but yes ... a film for adults who occasionally enjoy something more than titillation or mere entertainment.
Badar Munir To say movie is beautiful will be understatement. Movie moves with extreme calmness yet refreshingly different and visually appealing. What impresses most about the movie is, it tells the story of a family girl and how she identifies her in the surroundings, with the family he is living and more importantly with his emotions. Slow pace of the movie helps the calm effect and suddenly takes the viewer by surprise the way story unfolds. The way little girl learns the art of cooking, they way she learns about the secrets of the family is impressive. More importantly hidden desires of the girl shown in the movie is the master stroke of director. Music needs special praise so as acting.Stunningly beautiful!! 8/10
