Pacionsbo Absolutely Fantastic
Dynamixor The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
IncaWelCar In truth, any opportunity to see the film on the big screen is welcome.
Haven Kaycee It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film
blumdeluxe First of all I have to confess, that I'm not a huge Horror film expert or fan, especially when it comes to paranormal influences. While I find Psycho-Horror still fascinating sometimes, I just don't see a demon rushing through my wall or something. My bad if they prove me wrong one day."The Ring II" has both the advantage and burden that it is sequel to a quite successful Genre-Hit. While the budget and part of the cast plays in a higher league therefore, the plot is simply nonsense. And I don't mean a bit vague, I mean nonsense. There are so many details and aspects that make completely no sense on second thought that it is hard not to consider it as a weakness. Personally, I didn't manage to let fully go and join the world created by the film.On the other hand it was no complete disaster, there were some decent scenes and I guess if you are a fan of this kind of Horror, you at least have your fun with this one. Indeed the original Japanese setting could be even more interesting, because spirits and demons seem to be deeper parts of the oral tradition there.
lev-nemkin I really enjoyed this as well I wouldn't really call it a sequel it's more of a continuation of the story because Rachel and Aidan return this time the story is different though the only part that mentions the videotape is the beginning where this high school kid tries to get his girlfriend to watch it so she would die instead of him but it didn't work because she didn't look so he ended up dying anyway. The main story of this one is about Aidan and how he is possessed by Samara you know he's been possessed because he starts to get cold plus he also slips into a deep sleep or a coma for awhile then when he wakes up he doesn't act like himself that also gives it away and he also makes a psychiatrist that just wanted to help him kill herself that was kind of disturbing to watch after that he leaves the hospital without being discharged we also have another character called Max in this film but he isn't in it too long but Rachel asks for his help he tries to help best he can before Samara kills him I say Samara because it's her spirit in Aidan's body but one of the best scenes while he is still alive is when Rachel gets him to look at photos of Aidan where she had notices Samara in the background now I thought that was pretty creepy this film doesn't fall short on the creepiness or intrigue but the first one was much better for that I still enjoyed this though was a good continuation and look forward to seeing Rings which hasn't come out here yet but will soon I give this an 8/10 and I highly recommend this for fans of the first film.
Filipe Neto This film tells how a young journalist, a single mother of a gifted child is affected by the story of Samara and the video tape that kills those who see it in seven days. Directed by Hideo Nakata, the film is the sequel to "The Ring", has a Ehren Kruger script and Naomi Watts in the lead role.We are facing a sequel to one of the most popular thrillers in the recent years. Despite that, this film is far from expectations. I believe that the change of director (Nakata is the producer of Japanese film in which "The Ring" was initially inspired) has been a key factor for this failure. The film does not bring almost anything new, except to give Samara a more fierce and cruel aspect of what was in the original, with its huge hair remember me "The Grudge". But the truth is that the film intrigues more than scares, leaves the audience more curious than uncomfortable. The actors were at a good level. Naomi Watts is an experienced actress and was perfectly capable of handling her role. David Dorfman continues to do a great job as Aidan, and how the young man handed the role is a lesson for many child actors aspiring to a career in the seventh art. Visually appealing, the film has a deliberately dark picture, away from light and warm colors. The sun rarely appears, the fog and rain are almost a constant. Everything contributes to thicken the atmosphere. The soundtrack, created by Hans Zimmer, contributes decisively to the public's rare moments of discomfort. The problem of the film is, decidedly, the script and the absence of a director who understands the aspirations of a public hungry for emotions. The film does not have emotions, never heats or cools. Worse, there are certain elements of the story that almost collide against the original film, cutting its logical connection, necessary for the understanding of the story.
OllieSuave-007 This movie is the continuation of The Ring, picking up six months where the first story left off. Rachel Keller (Naomi Watts) and her son Aiden (David Dorfman) leave Seattle to live in a small rural town, away from all the horror. But, she hears that high school student Jake (Ryan Merriman) watched the tape and dies, leaving his girlfriend Emily (Emily VanCamp) to cope. Therefore, Rachel then realizes she once again has to save Aidan from the evil Samara (Kelly Stables).Like the first movie, this film will grip your heart with fear and tug at your mind. This movie's scary images, from the horrible expressions of the victims' faces to the scenes of the evil videotape, will send chills down your spines. You will find answers to questions left unresolved from the first movie, making the entire story come full circle. And, like the first film, this picture's overall gripping horror element will keep you both scared and entertained at the same time. Loads of fun.Grade B
