CrawlerChunky In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
Joey Ro Anyone who says this is bad doesn't know their movies,as someone with European descent I see the greatness of this movie! As with the movie toys it has a childlike feel, and Dana carvey is pretty funny! It reminds me of my childhood,as I saw this as a kid and laughed! Check this movie out!
alvaroant As I wrote this review, I realized I found my self in difficulty to find the correct words to describe how bad this movie is. As anyone else, I have favourite genres of film and there are of course some which I don't enjoy as much, some that I honestly don't like or appreciate, but in the end, I had always been able to watch any film from beginning to end, until I watch this film, I had to eject the DVD and stop watching, I was painful to endure, and ever since, I have been able to watch any film. This film was really a disappointing, considering how much enjoyed Dana Carvey's performances on SNL and in Wayne's World. The only advice that I can give to anyone, is to stay away from this film, as far away as one would try to stay away from Ebola.
SnoopyStyle Pistachio Disguisey (Dana Carvey) is a waiter at his father Fabbrizio (James Brolin)'s restaurant. For centuries, his family has used skills of disguise and mimicry to fight evil. However Fabbrizio decided to keep Pistachio out of the life. Fabbrizio and Mother Disguisey (Edie McClurg) are kidnapped by archenemy Devlin Bowman (Brent Spiner) who is using Fabbrizio to steal the world's treasure. Grandpa Disguisey (Harold Gould) shows up to teach Pistachio the family business. They hire Jennifer Baker (Jennifer Esposito) as the assistant."The silly voices, the making faces, it was fun for one second, OK!" The Bo Derek bit is cute but the annoying accent just .... annoyed the heck out of me. Dana Carvey is just mugging for the camera, not in a funny or likable way. It's at best tiresome, at worst racist. At some point, I don't even count the stereotypes as a deficiency. Jennifer Esposito's character is mildly embarrassed by Pistachio and I think she's mildly embarrassed by this movie in real life.
lamareikan So I saw this film for the first time when I was 8. Of course as an 8 year old, I found this film to be hilarious, but I recall my mother finding it absolutely stupid. I remember every kid in my school was talking about the film and quoting it not long after it came out. Now I have re-watched this film as a young adult, and I'm constantly wondering who was the intended audience for this film? The film is rated PG-13, and it's obvious because some of the humour is inappropriate for children. Ironically, most of the humour in the film would only be funny to someone under the age of 12. Overall, the film basically feels like a watered down, more childish imitation of Austin Powers. I can honestly see why this film has been long forgotten by the majority of the population.
