ThedevilChoose When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
filippaberry84 I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
Philippa All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
zacharychitwood This is my favorite movie. I like this better than many films that are objectively better. A lot of them actually. The film has an excellent story by Disney sequel standards. Sure it´s just another forbidden love story, but it is an excellent one. The music is probably the best thing. He Lives In You: Epic opening, arguably better than Circle of Life. Also Tina Turner did a cover of this.We Are One: Strangely, this is my least favorite song. It has a sort of simple sound, and while the lyrics are good, I find this song kinda boring. My Lullaby: Oh. My. Goodness. This song is DARRRRKK!!!!....rai. (Pokemon Joke LOL) This is one of my favorite songs in the movie and one of my favorite movie songs in general. This song is masterfully done.Upendi: I don´t have anything to say. It isnt too interesting. But ill take it over Hakuna Matata any day.Not One Of Us: This scene is so powerful and the scene displays some of the best animation in this movie. Love Will Find a Way: My favorite movie song ever. The song is just so beautiful. I love this song. The film is arguably better than the original, especially in the soundtrack. The new characters are good. Rafiki is given more screen time and Timon and Pumbaa are given less. Even if this film isn´t better than the original, i think it is, and thats what matters to me.
Torrin-McFinn77 We (my family and I) got the VHS tape for this movie and it wasn't until recently I got it on blu-ray and watched it again. When I watched Simba's Pride for the first time and time passed after my last viewing, I forgot a lot. But after watching it again, it had my undivided attention. One of my online friends said she couldn't stand it and claimed it was overrated, while some of the other folks among the online community said it was overrated too. But it's nice as a sequel and I wanted to see more of Simba's adventures on the savannah. And Kiara and Kovu stole the show. Now we have The Lion Guard and it continues the adventures of everyone's favorite African animals. But this is a little better. It felt sappy at parts but on the whole it's a decent sequel along with other big-screen sequels such as The Mummy Returns and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. But I say give it a chance!
shani_dayo I went into the film when I was younger with an open mind, but was sorely disappointed with this movie. It nowhere near lives up to the first film it proceeded by "The Lion King", but was not all bad. First I will say My first problem with the film was the Character attitudes. In this film the Main Character in the previous film Simba, is made out to be a bad Father and a bad King which is not true in My Opinion, Disney tried to ruin His previous Character build up, dragging Him through the mud the whole movie, when at some points He was actually politically correct. Another Character issue I have with this Movie is Simba and Nala's Daughter, Kiara. She is one of the brattiest Disney girls that has ever been! She is rude to Her Father, doesn't give a crap about who She is or Her legacy, and complains all the time about petty things! What problems does She have?! She says She is so sheltered and wants freedom, but I would be protective of My kid to if some insane, bloodthirsty Lioness who sang about ripping My throat out had the sole purpose In Her mind to destroy My family! But that just didn't set in Her ditzy Teenage brain! She is also very immature and vein for my taste. Besides these things the rest of the Characters have very different personality's than in the first film, it's like it wasn't even them! The animation was also lacking in some place and looked like it was done by a 10 year old to be honest. The movie is not to terrible however, it could have been better and has plenty more potential than it was given. If Disney used the same Character personality's from the first film, better Music, created a better plot line, and spent more time on it then it would be decent. It was an alright film, but didn't give Me the same feelings the first did. In conclusion try this film out, it depends on Your personal taste to decide If it is good or not.
amcmartinez So I finally decided to break down and write a review for Lion King 2. I might seem like I'm ranting but I'm just so tired of people bashing this work of creation. Lion King 2 is not bad! ITS NOT! And I guess a lot of people are saying it is because they are expecting to see Lion King all over again. Well my advice to those is to hit the replay button on LK because its not happening. Sequels are not meant to be exact replicas of their predecessors. So, those who are looking for that with this movie are going to be rudely disappointed. Having that said, I think it can be agreed that LK2 brought something a little new to the table. So first for those people complaining about the animation, it didn't suck. Either I'm blind or you are because I see the same quality animation as the first. Now I will admit LK2 wasn't as "flashy" as the original but it's not supposed to be. Its animation is more toned and a bit darker to fit the mood of the script. We can see this by just looking at Priderock , which had been shown from the other side to convey the shadowy feelings of Simba.Well since I brought that up I guess I'll start off with him first. Simba ,of course, is a big part of the movie. He is seen struggling to deal with his lingering hatred of his uncle Scar. He holds this resentment against Kovu and the Outlanders. Kiara is the daughter of King Simba making her a princess. She is strong minded and very independent. We can see this from her desire to do things herself and staying true to her heart. Bad-boy Kovu on the other hand is a lion trained by his evil mother, Zira, to befriend Kiara so that he may overthrow Simba thus, avenging Scar.In the end Kiara and Kovu fall in love and show others that love is the most important thing above all, no matter what you look like or come from. So the two groups put an end to their bitter feud and decide to join together . They now see that there is no difference between them because they're all lions; They are one.And so the light finally shines on the other side of Priderock. The story actually gives an eye opening lesson to people. We shouldn't judge others by their race or their background. This is still an ever so prevalent issue in our society that I wish would just disappear. Well that's the lesson I got from watching this movie. It seems though that some people forgot their "Upendi" and "Hakuna Matata" back in Neverland because they're so oblivious to the fact LK2 is a stunning movie that conveys a strong message. This movie was fantastic! Whats not to love? The animation was on key, the plot had good substance, and the characters are lovable and totally unforgettable. What more do you people want?! Not to mention the amazing song "We Are One" which makes my eyes turn into Niagara falls every time I hear it. *Sniff Sniff* (Now I miss Mufasa)...anyway. Asides from Lion King I don't think this movie could have did any better. Kudos to you Disney! Anyone who disagrees,oh well, I guess thats just you and your narrow minded opinion. #LEH
