Zlatica One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

JohnHowardReid Despite lukewarm reviews, the film broke even on its opening weekend and went on to pay back its investors at least three times their money. I side with the majority of moviegoers who made this feat possible. Jessica Alba gives a superb performance. She never falters in what was certainly an extremely difficult role. I was with her all the way. The film was not only expensively and expansively produced, but brilliantly directed from go to whoa. The support cast was also well chosen. I would have cast someone more conventional than Alessandro Nivola, but it's still a fine bit of casting and it works out well. Production values are superb. The climax really knocked me out!

battyereviews Let's begin with the positives, shall we? 1. Interesting concept; the film's premise (even though it's a remake) remains intriguing. 2. The progression of the narrative; the film's narrative is consistent, up to the end, at least.They're the positive aspects of this film. As for the negatives, oh, dear. I, personally, had numerous problems with the film, namely one Jessica Alba. Alba's performance is tedious, somewhat forced and ultimately lacking in any emotional empathy, shall we say, that she has, or, rather, is supposed to have, with her character. She was nominated for the Razzie award for Worst Actress 2008. No wonder. As for the other performances, they seemed to lack conviction, and, as a result, were equally mediocre. Moving on to what characterises most horror films; tension and suspense. This film was, again somewhat lacking, apart from a few effective jump scares, however, there were a few 'cheap scares' present, also, which were infuriating for the avid horror film fan. However, what irritated me most was the script; totally devoid of interesting dialogue, utterly dry, abrupt and forced. The climax of the film (without spoiling anything) conformed to the aforementioned criteria; abrupt, dissatisfying, predictable. To conclude, it's not really recommendable, especially for admirers of the first film.

atinder The Eye (2008) Is a Remake of Gin gwai (2003), This is not even first remake of Gin gwai (2003) as Bollywood remade this before Hollywood as Naina (2005), I have see bits of Naina (2005) on You tube as my God they movie look absolutely terrible (it's so it's looks funny). I was not looking forward to this remake at all, as Gin gwai one of the best ghost story to come out i the last 10 years, Which I found really scary and creepy.I was really disappointed in this movie as they took some from the Original movie, it just did not work with Hollywood remake. I hated the way Change grim Reaper in this movie, made it look more scary with really poor silly CG1 effects.Which makes the movie lose a lot of it potential, The original made them look more realistic and found a lot more chilling as well. I did like some of the new scenes that added into the mix, which I think was decent and The acting was really really good as well.As for the second remake of Gin gwai, This is worth one Time watch at least! 4 out of 10

fire-58 Got this movie on blue ray the other day and was really really interested I thought it was going to be a hit out of the park but sadly i was mistaken.But it must be said that this movie was pretty good. It should have been much much better then it was.Jessica alba was smokin hot as usually and played the part very well The movie really went all over the place and really took a long time to get to the point then ends. You have to watch it. it is worth it there are so many worse movies out there for you to watch At the very least the subject matter of the film in very interesting.
