Manish Kataria I am a die hard science fiction fan and love it when a movie stretches the limits of imagination and though this movie is not the best science fiction movie that I have watched, it is a very good attempt. If science fiction for you means futuristic gadgets, star ships, aliens and super cool visual effects, this is not a movie for you. However, if you are like me who loves sci-fi movies for their plots, imaginations and creativity then you would find this movie highly nourishing to your grey matter. The Discovery starts off with an interesting idea of scientific proof of after life and how it is leading to an epidemic level suicide rate across the globe. After that the story is about two lead characters - Will and Isla. The threads of their lives intertwine amidst more revelations about after life. The climax of the movie is really mind bending and that's when one realizes that every scene up to the point of climax was a great build up to the mystery of after life especially from the point of view of Will. Of course, there are things that could have been better in the movie for example - the acting by lead actors does leave you wanting for more and the screenplay could also have been much better but in my view a sci-fi movie with average acting and average screenplay is also a must watch as long as it leaves you wondering about the possibilities that science can one day open up and the answers we may find.

renan-jegouzo it's really an unbelievable and stupid scenario. why peoples will kill themselves because of a hypothetical parallel plane of existence after death ?? it's totally stupid, no ones will do that.. lot's of other peeps believe in other planes called paradise, hell or whatever.. and they never kill themselves by millions for that...

namrof The premise for this movie was really interesting, which is why I decided to watch it. However, the plot was really lacking in the imaginative details I was hoping for. We never hear any stories about the afterlife, or see the afterlife, or learn about how it was discovered. The characters spend the whole movie trying to film what they think is the afterlife, only to disprove the main plot line in the process. We just end up with an anticlimactic story line and an unnecessary love story that did nothing for the overall film. It's only purpose was to give the main character a reason to keep living in a time loop of what was primarily a very mundane moment.

ronin1138 Good, entertaining film, solid performances and most of all thought provoking. Those of you familiar with Nietszche's frankly disturbing theory of Eternal Reoccurance will find this an interesting watch. A few more entertainment based films such as The Sixth Sense and the lesser known Wind Chill have utilised it but this film takes it and expands on the theory with equally disturbing ideas.
