BootDigest Such a frustrating disappointment
Pluskylang Great Film overall
WillSushyMedia This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.
Curt Watching it is like watching the spectacle of a class clown at their best: you laugh at their jokes, instigate their defiance, and "ooooh" when they get in trouble.
nicholas-82765 While this movie is similar to Taken, it is not quite as good. However, if you are looking for a fairly brainless escape from reality, with some action and some violence, this is a decently entertaining film. There are a couple catchy lines, but in general, the dialogue is fairly cookie cutter. Nicholas Cage provides the performance that we expect in the role that he usually plays (a bad guy with a good side). Josh Lucas provides a fairly strong performance and truthfully is the highlight of the film. Malin does a good job, but she is underutilized in this film. It is a film that has some interesting parts, but a good portion of it falls flat. Again, it is entertaining despite its high predictability.
Paul Magne Haakonsen I can't really claim to be a fan of Nicolas Cage and his perpetual constipated grimace. But I still decided to sit down and watch "Stolen". And I must say that the movie turned out to be alright. Although a different leading actor might just have upped the movie a notch. While the storyline does fall into some stereotypical pitfalls for a movie of this genre, then the overall movie was entertaining enough. The movie does start out at a fast pace and continues in a fast pace until the very end.The movie is predictable to the core, sure, but it is one of those types of movies suitable when you are looking for a movie that requires no thinking at all.Aside from Nicolas Cage, then the people on the cast list were doing good jobs with their given roles and characters. I will say that Nicolas Cage did a good enough job, but his one and only expression is hard to get past."Stolen" is sort of a mixture between movies such as "Taken" and "The Italian Job", favoring neither genre more than the other. But it wasn't a particularly outstanding movie.
gojiseb It does what it needs to do. It's a Nic Cage actioner where he has to save his daughter from a psychopathic villain who used to be his best friend. That's all you need to know. All that's left is to shut off your brain and try to have fun with it. Nicolas Cage does what you'd expect from him, and if you're a fan of that, then the odds are that you'll get a kick out of him. Josh Lucas really steals the show as the main baddie and Danny Huston does a fine job with his supporting role. All in all, a fun flick to kill a night at the end of a long day with. Go in expecting little more than that and you'll probably leave pleased.
schuster_mark Great movie? Nah... Fun to watch just the same? yea! Here's what it comes down to.. do you like Nick Cage? If you do, watch the movie, you'll enjoy it. Beats an a couple hours of work. Don't like Nick Cage, than I'd pass.I actually found a few of the scenes, especially in the beginning, very engaging and exciting. The dialog could use some serious help, but if you can overlook this, it's not a horrible way to spend an 1.5hrs.I've seen a lot worse with much higher ratings here on IMDb.COM.If you're looking for a fun to watch action film with one of Hollywood's A-listers, look no further.
