Perry Kate Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
Huievest Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
Ariella Broughton It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
Dana An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
Stevieboy666 Apparently filmed in colour but the print that I just had the misfortune to sit through was in black and white, though I doubt that had it been in colour that it would have been any better. I just found it pretty inept and boring. The microphone makes several appearances, acting is as wooden as the boats in the film and a few of the supposedly Pacific islanders are obviously western women. Some nice scenes of Hawaii though.
Rainey Dawn We have two buff guys who are brothers: one is a murderer and the other an okay dude. They go to sea after the one brother murders a man, a storm comes up and leaves them stranded on an island. This island is full of only women - and only one or two of them are cute to look at. The women dive for pearls for a company that comes to them once in awhile to pick up the pearls. It'll be a few days before that boat arrives to the island and the men have plenty of time to show off their muscles to the girls. The "good" brother falls in-love with one of the woman. These two men, along with the women, must watch out for the shark island god's anger! Basically just two guys showing off their muscles. Not a great film, in-fact it's terrible. What was Roger Corman thinking? Maybe he just needed to fill a quota so he quickly cranked this one out.2/10
mark.waltz Deliciously campy island adventure, this colorful tale of an alleged curse on an island of women is a hoot. A wanted killer and his pal (Bill Cord and Don Durant) are shipwrecked on the isle of beauty where the suspicious den-mother like queen (Jeanne Gerson) warns them of impending revenge by the shark god if they remain. Romance erupts between one of the girls (Lisa Montell) and the pal, leading the crone to drastic measures which comes to a possible tragic end. Complete with a lush theme song sung by Sylvia Syms, the film grabs at you like shark's teeth and never lets go. The scantily clad men leave little to the imagination, their loin cloths barely covering the flesh underneath. Impressive underwater photography also aids in making this rise above its low-budget status.
bkoganbing She Gods Of Shark Reef is a Roger Corman film where two fleeing Americans are washed up on the shore of an uncharted desert island with nothing but females inhabiting it. Bill Cord and Don Durant are the lucky guys and the main industry of the island is pearl diving. Despite the fact that one of them is a fugitive from the law these two think they've got it made. But as the old adage goes if something looks too good to be true, chances are it is. These women worship the shark as a deity and that's a deity that forever needs feeding. And somehow in their religion as in many others they've divined that the shark likes virginal women.Other than they don't like outsiders in general Queen Jeanne Gerson of this Amazon culture also feels that with these two healthy American men the virgin supply might start shrinking. Though you have to wonder how without men did these Amazon cultures start and keep going. All I can say is that Roger Corman did Happy Days one better by having a whole film devoted to shark worship. And the Happy Days folks thought just the Fonz jumping a shark tank was the be all end all.
