Synopsis

We're all familiar with the story: a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, on a planet called Tattooine, a boy named Luke Skywalker is adopted by the only remaining Jedi knight and helps the Rebellion destroy the Death Star after learning the ways of the force. However, what if "Pulp Fiction" director Quentin Tarantino had directed George Lucas' script, using Kenner action figures and stop computer animation?

Reviews

RipDelight This is a tender, generous movie that likes its characters and presents them as real people, full of flaws and strengths.
InformationRap This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
Kaelan Mccaffrey Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
Nicole I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
Horst in Translation (filmreviews@web.de) "Quentin Tarantino's Star Wars" is a 4-minute animated short film by writer and director Evan Mather and thanks to the references on Star Wars and Oscar-winning filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, this is among his most known works, an early career effort, but not a very early. It came out in 2002, but looking at the date displayed in the actual movie, it is even a few years older and heading straight towards its 20th anniversary. And yes, in here you see what a Star Wars film by Tarantino may have looked like / may look like, which is a bit more relevant these days as it seem Q is about to direct the next Star Trek movie. Anyway, back to this one here: Of course it is all about the comedy and not really about what such a project would have looked like. You also have several references about Star Wars and past Tarantino films like Pulp Fiction for example. It does a look cheap yes and that explains the rating here on imdb, but sometimes it was also fairly entertaining thanks to the references and you could see Mather's dedication. All in all, I still give it a thumbs-down. I also don't think Star Wars fans (unlike myself) or Tarantino fans (like myself) really need to check this one out. It's nothing special really. Skip the watch.
forebore-2 The first time I watched this film I couldn't stop laughing. And now I watch it at least once a week because it only seems to get funnier (though I kind of felt sorry for poor Greedo). Anyway, I think that the makers of this film do a very good job mixing the story of A New Hope with the filmmaking of Quentin Tarantino. They also do an excellent job making the film relentlessly funny.
electrifyingolivier This is a good piece of animation but not a very good film... but it's not supposed to anyway. I am surprised that the "Royale With Cheese" dialog was NOT mocked. Overall, it's an entertaining piece of work, and I'm sure its director will find a job in animation - not in a director's chair.
Byers "Quentin Tarantino's Star Wars" is a creative and imaginative piece of filmmaking. Using the Star Wars action figures we've all come to know and love (especially the rare Slave Leia figure) and the techniques of Quentin, the plot of Episode IV is told in all its glory. Filmed on an epic scale and filled with humor and sadness, tragedy and triumph, the movie takes us through a breathtaking journey of both the Star Wars universe and the work of Tarantino. I recommend that every fan of movies and Star Wars, as well as everyone else, check it out whenever they have a few.
