Hottoceame The Age of Commercialism
Janae Milner Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
Donald Seymour This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
Tymon Sutton The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.
david-sarkies It seems as if I am in the minority here, but I actually quite enjoyed this movie. Maybe it has a lot to do with not actually expecting all that much from it. I guess that is one of those laws when it comes to movies - the more I expect, the less I get (and vice verse). Okay, it seems as if it is one of those straight to DVD movies, and in a way that can be a good thing because people generally don't expect all that much from such films, and as such you can pull up some hidden gems. The film opens with a gun deal that is starting to go wrong, and at first I'm wondering whether they are police on a sting or not. Well, it turns out to be the 'or not', namely because they are actually thieves. Well, it seems as if maybe they aren't into the business much anymore, but our hero, Jack, seems to by trying to settle down with a nice veterinarian (though he has borrowed his colleague's dog to try and impress her). However, things start going wrong when his ex appears out of nowhere, and behind her are some thugs that are trying to kill her. Jack, not surprisingly, is dragged into the middle of the whole mess (as well as his new found girlfriend). Well, it seems as if she has got some information, and she has decided to use this information to get rich rather quickly. Then again, she needs some assistance, which is why she has come to Jack. Thus we end up in your typical hiest movie - sort of. Basically they are trying to get their hands onto a large number of gems, and it appears as if the local crime lord, played by Bruce Willis, is trying to as well. Thus what is basically a hiest film, in many cases is also a game of cat and mouse. I actually found that the film was quite clever, and reasonably well paced as well. In fact it kept me interested right through to the end, and it certainly wasn't all that long either, which is an added bonus. However, what really impressed me was how our heroes (or more correctly anti-heroes) managed to outwit these professional crooks, and get away with the loot. Sure, the acting certainly isn't top notch, and with the exception of Bruce Willis, they are mostly B-grade actors, but sometimes this B-grade films are much more entertaining than your typical big budget blockbuster. Yeah, it might be pretty lame in places, but it is one of those quite enjoyable type of lame.
nicholls_les I know I am going to struggle to write enough lines about this movie because it is just bad, end of! Most others on here have said pretty much what I would have but I want to say I agree with them that this is one of the worst movies ever. I watched it on DVD and found myself fast forwarding in the hope it might get better. It didn't.I suppose this movie shows that no matter how good actors think they are, it is all about a good script and good direction, of which this film has neither.Regarding the so called script, do people really swear that much? I sure don't hear that level of profanity but if it really is that bad then what a sad world we live in. Truth is I think the script writers couldn't think of enough different words to use.It does prove one thing though. Bruce Willis is one of the most over rated actors ever.
inkslayer Another poorly written heist movie with Bruce Willis as crime boss Eddie, Claire Forlani as Karen the thief, and the writer/director looking like a neophyte. The writer blatantly uses/rips off lines and scenes from other movies. A definite no-no if you are a writer with a degree who has studied his/her craft. The acting all around is disgraceful. Blame the green director. That being said, Script Pipeline, how and why did Max Adams' screenplay become a finalist in your 2010 competition? Something definitely smells rotten over at Script Pipeline. If the biased readers and judges at screenplay competitions and their producer sidekicks keep green lighting these horrendous flicks, the film industry will turn into an even bigger joke than it is now, and actors will go back to making 1950's wages. Wise up actors!!! Stop encouraging these poorly written screenplays to get made, and neophyte directors to direct you.
zardoz-13 Writer & director Max Adams' profanity-laden, formulaic action fodder about double-crosses and shoot'em ups is snappy enough nonsense to be interesting and some of its dialogue is amusing. Once again Bruce Willis takes top billing as the urbane villain named Eddie in this fast-paced, sometimes surprising, but often straightforward thriller. One of the good guys uses spark-plugs fired from a shotgun to penetrate the windows of an armored car truck. Mark-Paul Gosselaar of "Heist" makes a serviceable action hero named Jack, and Claire Forlani is the deceptive female who persuades Jack to help her get rid of Eddie. Jenna Kelly is a female sniper who keeps the bad guys from putting bullets into our rugged protagonist. "Precious Cargo" refers to the valuable jewels that our hero and heroine are after and that villainous Bruce wants. Max Adams displays a modicum of flair and knows how to keep the action moving ahead of the gun play. Daniel Bernhardt makes an excellent second-in-command villain named Simon who repeatedly tangles with Eddie and gets him a hard time. Lensed on location in Gulfport, Mississippi.
