Reviews

Sexyloutak Absolutely the worst movie.
Bluebell Alcock Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies
Kinley This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows
Billy Ollie Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
longjohnslass I'm a very easy person to scare with this sort of thing, and I like to give movies as much credit as possible, even when they're not great. It's not horrible, but I was disappointed. It takes next to nothing to make me jump, but this didn't make me jump even once I'm sad to say. The acting was alright, and the different setting was a nice change of pace. But I feel like this should have been its own thing and not a sequel. There was little to no suspense build-up in my opinion (not to say they didn't try, but I don't think they pulled it off) so there wasn't much feeling of threat. *shrug* I don't know, I don't pretend to be any kind of expert critic of anything, but I'd say this was good for background at best :(
Leviathan When I went to watch this movie, I didn't really had much expectations about this. The first half of this movie may seem boring to some. But after that there's a hell of a ride. I was just awestruck about the making of this movie, everything looked so real. It's hard to imagine how it is directed. This movie doesn't target it's audience to jump out of their seats often, but to make them just freeze like ice due to sheer terror. I would have given it a perfect 10 rating if this movie's characters have spoken just a bit slower. But like all the PA movies, this also have an ending that makes you say, "Oh God". After this movie, I surely am going to watch the next sequel. I hope they are even better.
Owen Gonzales I was really expecting something good because I have been looking forward t watching this series of movies, to bad I didn't look at the reviews before hand. The movie is about a kid named Jess who gets possessed by a demon and eventually tries to get it out. The movie didn't even try to be creative. Oh hector is going for a close up with the camera toward a window of course a person is going to slam their face against it. Oh hector and Jesse are looking for Oscar, then Oscar falls onto a car next to them. And of course when you look in a scary basement you have to have the 2 scary blacked eyed girls behind a curtain when looking. Also the ending didn't make any sense, hector encountered a woman who started yelling matic, then she rushed him With a knife, a man runs down the stairs and try's to help her but he gets in a fight with her. Then to top it all of hector runs away opens a door, some type of monster humans jumps him, his camera falls to the ground then a couple seconds later a strange woman turns of the camera. What I am saying is that there are many more examples of the movie being predictable, if you would watch it you would know. The only reason is that I didn't rate this movie lower is because their where some funny parts that were meant to be funny then parts that where funny, but not meant to be funny. Like a funny part that was not meant to be funny was when Jesse was possessed by a demon and had the little dog shoved on the feeling running on its side. Anyway I knew that they could have done a much better job because oculus had the same budget and they made a master piece. Only watch this movie for comedic value or something to laugh at.
Roman James Hoffman Love it or (more often) hate it, there's no disputing the fact that (along with the 'Saw' franchise, which is arguably more slasher/torture-porn), and despite the fact that it owes an awful lot to 'The Blair Witch Project' (1999) in its found-footage conceit, the 'Paranormal Activity' horror franchise has defined horror since the first one back in 2007. Since the major success of the first movie each subsequent sequel up to 'Paranormal Activity 4' has enlarged its internal universe with story lines following on from the events of the first movie as well as, more impressively, story lines which both flesh out a surprisingly cohesive and eerie back-story.'Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones' breaks a little with this tradition. Instead, describing itself as a "cousin" to the first four movies, this film takes a sideways step from the events surrounding the family of Katie and Kristi and chooses to change its setting to a socially deprived Hispanic community. The found-footage conceit is still in place but the change of setting is refreshing and yet loses nothing of the chill factor as we watch three friends become embroiled in these dark machinations: one of whom, Jessie, is a "marked one" and whose personal transformation we follow. So…is it scary? Umm, well, in bits. The main hallmark of the franchise is the quiet-quiet-quiet-LOUD jump-scare. Something which infuriates many in its predictability but which nonetheless remains effective…something like the Big Mac of horror movie scare-tactics. And for better or for worse, these remain in place. However, I found the overall atmosphere of the first thirty or forty minutes actually quite creepy. However, this tension dropped off considerably after this point so that by the time the climax at the creepy house from 'Paranormal Activity 3' (my favourite of the franchise) there was little left.Still, this is not to say that I was bored. I just wasn't scared.Overall, I think it is an interesting installment of the continued 'Paranormal Activity' experiment, one which goes a long way to unlocking the events that preceded it and also one which lays groundwork which continued installments can build upon. However, herein lies the failing: I think the movie would offer very little to a viewer not familiar with the previous films…while for those who have seen the previous films, things just seem very, very familiar.
