Deanna There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

Smgrte235860 This slower burn modern Western thriller is different, and more compelling, the films like it due to it's non-linear storytelling approach. You'll start to question what you're seeing, which is hard to pull off, but writer/director Mark Stephens does a fantastic job of it. A definite indie gem!

vroth-89221 I think this is my first Western thriller. It has a little old West with a contemporary feel, a little dark atmosphere and an indie vibe. You have to pay attention as the story builds, but you get a good payoff at the end.

ryanbartongrimley ONE STEP BEHIND is a highly effective and deeply dark Western thriller! I loved the use of the desert as the backdrop as it's so iconic to westerns. I also thought the lead actor Thoms Fisco was dynamite and menacing on a degree you don't usually see in indie films. This dude can act! The camera work really added to the feel for me and I also loved the music. Classic guitar in westerns always gets me. Lastly, there's a great twist! One Step Behind is a bonafide indie western that fires on all cylinders! NICE WORK!
