Claysaba Excellent, Without a doubt!!
PiraBit if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.
Brendon Jones It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
sscarito This movie really really had a long beginning. In the first ten minutes, QUAIL was mentioned a total of 50 times. If I had a PENNY for how many times this movie mentioned quail and saffron sauce, I'd be richer than our President. Although the only liar and rat is Nick, the male lead, this is a definitive copy of Ratatouille. I was quite shook by the death of the sister, and in all honesty the daughter didn't contribute to the plot as much as needed. It was like the movie wanted to be a Drama, a Comedy, and a Romance all at once. It was quite the mess. It was no quail. It was no quality. Both the answering machine, and the weatherman were MALE. Barbaric! The only female leads were the female lead, the female boss, and the female child. AND THE PREGNANT LADY AND THE ACTRESS. There was no females at all!! Throughout the movie, despite Kate's various rules- she followed NO health regulations. Even though the food made me quite hungry, the way she handled it did not at all. And oh, quail. Anyways, the actress girl and the couple all went to the freezer often- to do their own activities idk whatever. The child claimed to only like Italian food YET she liked the pancakes SO. this is clearly a lie. Kate left the child alone so many times, or with untrustworthy human beings- WTF WAS SHE DOING. For a professional chef, this woman knows nothing of cooking to people's likes. THIS IS A CHILD. a white child. she knows not how to eat a whole fish. such as my friend jasmine. kate refused to feed the child fish sticks at first EVEN THO her whole restaurant ONLY HAS QUAIL. A FISH! would you believe that. oh quail. Kate refuses to eat in the afternoon- THAT'S MOST OF THE DAY. What kind of health professional chef doesn't eat in the afternoon. Throughout the story, we learn that Nick is a Liar. AND HE WEARS CROCS AND PJS. crocs? children's ENEMY. ADULTS lawsuits.Even when the babysitter SMOKED Kate was barely concerned. Just threw it out. Oh, and quail. Kate forgets her kid, even though legit it's like her only responsibility. Liek honey, get your life together. Many characters serve no purpose in the story, and could easily be cut out with the knife that Kate carries everywhere- cuts papers with- and maybe people we don't know. Jasmine gave up on speaking by now. Quail. Anyways, the movie had Michael Bible music, making it redeemable. Nick was smoking someone the entire movie. He is legit a 14 year old in a man's body. Zoe is older. This child. THIS CHILD. Oh my freaking quail. This child, she told her school that she was SLAVING away in the kitchen for room and board with her aunt. W T F. She also ran into the street with cars. Nick finally started wearing pants. Meagan was SHOOKTH. Kate keeps getting an accent- then losing it MID WAY HER SENTENCE. Much diversity of language. Much proud. Much Spanish. The kissing didn't have slurping sounds, A+. She said it tasted like Quail. Girl slays and quits job. She says im done with the patriarchy. They open diner. Twins are different kids. wtf. We are done.
Davis P No Reservations (2007) is a movie that has different aspects to it. It's ONE story with MANY layers. I personally consider it a family based drama above anything else, but it is also a romance, then, its sprinkled with some comedy here and there. And I love that this movie has many layers to it, I think it makes it stronger overall. There's a little something for everyone here. The cast handles their roles very well, I think every cast member was perfectly cast and they are all accomplished actors so it's no shocker that they give fine performances. Catherine Zeta Jones (Chicago, Mask of Zorro) was excellent, you can feel her pain and every single emotion her character is feeling through her performance. Just the same, you can do the same with Aaron Eckhart. Also, Abigail Breslin, who showed incredible talent at such a young age, does a great job with her role. Everyone's chemistry is so spot on too. Eckhart and Jones have electric romantic chemistry, I loved the well filmed somewhat love scene between the two. But their chemistry is not limited to the physical, their dialogue between one another and how they relate and form a connection is wonderful to watch. That's another thing, the film's writing. I found that the writing worked because it showed the audience what the characters were struggling with, it gave them depth, which made it so much easier to relate to them and to care about what happened to them. All in all, this is a lovely story to watch. 10/10! Highly recommend!
juneebuggy This was pretty much what I expected although more on the romantic/drama than romantic comedy side of things. The story has been done many times before so this is predictable yet somehow still didn't feel redundant to me. It follows a workaholic New York City chef (this time around) who must suddenly deal with taking care of her orphaned 9 year old niece.Catherine Zeta-Jones is suitably (bitchy) giving off a no-nonsense intensity as she runs her kitchen. I did enjoy (as always) Aaron Eckhart as her easy going love interest and Abigail Breslin puts in a great performance as the orphaned niece. I felt sad for her and she seemed to bring out the best in both of her leads. The romance here is meh, whatever, the story brainless and the ending kinda cheesy but still an easily watchable movie. 11/17/15
smsalyers This is a cutesy, Styrofoam-plastic, Hollywood remake of a beautiful and moving German film, 'Mostly Martha'. 'No Reservations tells, blow by blow, exactly the same story - and even the lines trailed on IMDb are directly lifted from the original: Therapist: Kate/Martha, I'm sure you will be able to prevent the worst from happening. Kate/Martha: And that would be? Therapist: That he will tolerate you for any length of time. And yet, No Reservations, is unrecognizable as the offspring of its lovely parent. It's pleasant, forgettable stuff. After all, what can you expect from a romantic comedy? Listen up, Hollywood; 'Mostly Martha', with its movingly drawn, flawed, three dimensional characters, its loving lenses into a compelling world AND the humor, the romance, the feel-good journey through transformation, is what we have a right to expect!
